6. It does seem that Limbaugh is in the driver's seat, which is both
pathetic and frightening all at once.

Steele's genuflection to Limbaugh today was painful to see / hear. What a mess the Republicans are making.

9. Fuck that!
He is the face of the Republican party.

Yell it from the mountain...

From David Frum, neo-con galore and GWB speech writer...

And for the leader of the Republicans? A man who is aggressive and bombastic, cutting and sarcastic, who dismisses the concerned citizens in network news focus groups as “losers.” With his private plane and his cigars, his history of drug dependency and his personal bulk, not to mention his tangled marital history, Rush is a walking stereotype of self-indulgence – exactly the image that Barack Obama most wants to affix to our philosophy and our party. And we’re cooperating! Those images of crowds of CPACers cheering Rush’s every rancorous word – we’ll be seeing them rebroadcast for a long time.

4. It's oh so sad. There hasn't been one rethug to counter Rush, certainly
not Steele. I think this is pretty funny. Or hysterical!

What will they do? And who will finally break through?

Hi, saltpoint! :fistbump:

5. Hi there, babylonsister.
Good questions -- who IS going to pull the Republican Party out of their own sewer drain?

And you're right -- it's not likely to be Michael Steele.

7. He should have hired some backup singers and recorded a love ballad
Something like the Carpenters' hit "Close To You."

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.

Why do stars fall down from the sky
Every time you walk by?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you.

On the day that you were born
The angels got together
And decided to create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold
And starlight in your eyes of blue.

That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around.
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you

8. LOL. I'm still in kind of shock at how pathetic
Steele behaved against the Great Gasbag of A.M. radio.

Where is the party of Lincoln?

Haven't see it in many, many moons.

Michael Marshmallow is my new pet name for him.

11. Good one. Yep. Not much core to his core. Limbaugh is calling the shots for a
major political party. An overt propagandist belching hate and division from dashboards coast to coast.

I'm thinking this is not a sustainable model for governance.

12. I laughing my ass off...
Look at all the Democrats giving the Republicans advice on how to be a better party!

Holy hell, the strategy should be to hang Rush around their necks. Turn him into their albatross.

13. I think Steele swallowed party poison today in genuflecting to Limbaugh.
I'm thinking Steele's days as RNC chair are numbered.

And I love your imagery of Limbaugh-as-albatross. That is perfect.

14. Thanks!
While I half expect Steele to have some "family issues" that he might need to attend to, I also think that the Republican politicos who can't fall to their knees fast enough to kiss Rush's butt don't feel secure enough to get rid of the black guy.

I read today on DKos - Limbauglican. I like it!

business and political instincts than he's shown so far, but then again...

16. How about singing "That Ole Man River" only in a hip hop kinda way.
You know "That Ole Man Ribber" cause Rush is sort of a ribber, a jokester. Like in the Catskills and we need the Jewish vote and its sort of in ebonics too its sort of hippy hop? Right?:hurts:

18. Steele had me confused big time between his wish for "Frank Sinatra
Republicans" and his veering toward hip-hop more recently.

It seems like a musical enough context, but what the hell does it mean?!

17. Centralized control of the Republican Party
Rush Limbaugh demonstrates what happens when one of his subjects goes off the ranch.

Does the term "Mind numb robots" ever come get mentioned?

But as a Democrat, I hope he continues to be a worm.

20. Agree. If he actually wants to help his party redefine itself
and reshape itself into a viable public service organization, he's going to have to stop kowtowing to propagandists.

No sign of that on the horizon, though!
