I was curious, so looked up the banks getting TARP money. I'm in the process of going to a credit union. I've opened a savings and checking account there, and will remove the rest from the bank when my last checks clear and I get my auto pays switched over. But I had no idea my bank got TARP money. I've read everything I get from the bank, and there's been no mention of this. I can see why, I guess. Knowing they needed fed money to protect solvency might start a good ol' fashioned run. Still, there also seems to be some value to being honest with one's customers. Another bank with branches in my town got funds, too. I find this amazing.

Have you ever looked at the list? Here it is:

1. The ratio of non-performing loans to cash on hand is called
the Texas ratio. I wonder why. Is that new? Does it have anything to do with Phil Gramm?
