Recent poll showed Bush with higher favorable rating than Limbaugh

Republicans appear to be bowing down left and right to conservative pundit Rush Limbaugh, even though most Americans view the radio talk show host unfavorably.

In fact, polls by Gallup in February show that Limbaugh has less favorable ratings from the mainstream public than former President George W. Bush. But while members of Congress and presidential aspirants spent most of the last two years trying to run away from Bush, Limbaugh's power seems to be expanding.

"In a February Gallup poll, 45 percent of respondents said they had an unfavorable view of Limbaugh, to 28 percent with a favorable opinion. The partisan divide was steep, with Republicans favoring Rush 60-23, while Democrats disapproved 63-6," Howard Kurtz writes in Tuesday's Washington Post.

And the idiotic GOP pols are rushing into Limbaugh's embrace even as they distance themselves from Dubya. Well, Limbaugh DOES have his shows, while Dubya has long lost his bully pulpit.

gives less than 18% of the people both support Rush and claim to be Republicans.

Count the "leaners" (those independents who lean towards support of the Republicans) and the Republicans have about 39% of the nation -- but less than 24% of the nation when asked if they support Limbaugh.

Oh yeah. He's a force (farce?) to be reckoned with.

Apparently, he was spewing about some research that said "fat" (his words), angry men tend to be conservatives. Rush threw "white" in to ante up the rage and then spewed on about how it wasn't true!LOL.

I have to concede to the Boilester, though. We saw those angry whites at the Palin KKK rallies; doughy, aggressive, FAS impaired, dropped-on-their-head-as-a-child blank stares out of fleshy, unformed faces. They wandered around clutching their Obama Curious George Monkeys and chanting "Kill him!" with the frighteningly ferocious determination of cockroaches on the march when the lights finally go out, never realizing just how sub-human they looked with their inbred facial features and their Jesus Hates T-Shirts.

...and they're being fed by the draft-dodging anger of a triple-divorced drug addict who couldn't even manage to finish college, let alone get a respectable job. So, yeah, I'm willing to give Rush his leap.
