"When I was in the government, I did not have a problem with people writing columns criticizing our decisions" John Yoo
Yoo was interviewed recently in the OC Register and offered the above as an answer to a question. The clueless interviewer seemed oblivious to the fact that Yoo had written legal memos that justified the capture, detention and torture of American citizens without due process if they criticized the President or government based SOLELY on the whims of those same government officials.
Why should Yoo have worried about criticism knowing that his legal opinions to the President, had they been acted upon, would have resulted in his detractors being thrown in jail and possibly tortured to death for speaking out in a "time of war". I guess for John Yoo there are no worries about criticism when you believe that those criticizing you would probably end up dangling from hooks with electrodes on their genitals.
Chapman Law School must be so proud to have John Yoo as a visiting professor.
