4. Save for his use of the 'protectionist' boogeyman
I thought his speech on the whole was rather good - his was another voice for multilateralism, moral responsibility as a component of economics, etc. Good stuff.

6. I think the audience got it the wrong way round.
They should have applauded the bits about protectionism and remained seated during the bits where he was fawning over them IMHO.
