Rush to the President: Debate Me
Edited on Wed Mar-04-09 01:52 PM by RJ Connors
Source: RushLimbaugh.com

But I have an idea. If these guys are so impressed with themselves, and if they are so sure of their correctness, why doesn't President Obama come on my show? We will do a one-on-one debate of ideas and policies. Now, his people in this Politico story, it's on the record. They're claiming they wanted me all along. They wanted me to be the focus of attention. So let's have the debate! I am offering President Obama to come on this program -- without staffers, without a TelePrompTer, without note cards -- to debate me on the issues. Let's talk about free markets versus government control. Let's talk about nationalizing health care and raising taxes on small business.

Let's talk about the New Deal versus Reaganomics. Let's talk about closing Guantanamo Bay, and let's talk about sending $900 million to Hamas. Let's talk about illegal immigration and the lawlessness on the borders. Let's talk about massive deficits and the destroying of opportunities of future generations. Let's talk about ACORN, community agitators, and the unions that represent the government employees which pour millions of dollars into your campaign, President Obama. Let's talk about your elimination of school choice for minority students in the District of Columbia. Let's talk about your efforts to further reduce domestic drilling and refining of oil. Let's talk about your stock market. By the way, Mr. President, I want to help. Yesterday you said you looked at the stock market as no different than a tracking poll that goes up and down.

"Does Rush want to debate the president about if Michael J Fox was faking his illness?...the president has no time for things of that nature". Then have a clip ready of Rush shaking around his studio.

Politico came out of fucking nowhere, and instead of being lumped in with "drive-by media," Limpballs is embracing it.

Limpballs keeling over from a heart attack would qualify as LBN, but his delusions of grandeur are not news.

and this is just a bunch of bluster. He knows he's not important enough to be able to entice the leader of the free world to come down to his level, so it's a totally empty offer.

Were he to have made it during the campaign, it might have meant something.

As it is now, it's just the usual strutting and preening.

32. Obama could just invite him to the White House
See - people like Rash Limpballs are cowards and are envious of the power that the Presidency offers Obama. And although he may have been in Raygun's White House or the BFEE's White House, the symbolism of this visit would take him down mentally more than he realizes.

That drop-out, drug-addled loser can't debate face-to-face because first, he can barely hear in either ear even with the cochlear implants (he has someone in his studio who literally transcribes caller questions/comments to him so he can read them from a screen in order to respond to them and they manipulate the audio feed to edit out the pauses), and second, his own brother, who feeds him talking points, would have to be there. Plus Obama's taller and would pull a Mohammed Ali on him. There would be all sorts of alpha dog stuff going on there and Rash would lose. This is why he insists on having this take place on his show.

And my favorite response:

Rush knows what the country needs.
Rush knows what needs to be done.
Rush understand and believes and practices the principle of conservatism better than anyone else in the USA.
Rush is the most articulate spokesman for conservatism.
If anyone can persuade the majority of American people of the validity of Conservatism it is Rush.
Rush will do whatever needs to be done for the good of the country even if it means taking a pay cut.
If Rush will run for POTUS in 2012, then he will have many opportunities to debate Obama - and if he is succerssful (is there any doubt?), then he will be able to reverse the current course and save the country.

Can you say hero worship???

My guess is that the President of the United States of America have a lot more to do, than to speak with mr Humbug, who would try his best to play it the way he want to play it, if Obama was to come at his show.. Why doesn't mr Humbug telling mr Bush, when he was in office to came to mr Humbug, to play the game mr Humbug like so well?.. What it because Mr Bush after all, was one of his own.?

The best President Obama should do, is just ignore the ass all toghter, and never even try to tell what hi want to do. Ignore the prick, and let the man believe he is the center of the universe.. He might want to heat up the water, because he want to be in the spotlight. But if you ignore him, and are not give him a Chance to debate you, then you are on the safe side..

On the other hand, Obama are the President, not the other way around, and if Humbug, want to play with Obama, I would guess the tradition is that you came to the president, not the president are coming to you?.. In a decent debate mr Humbug would have no Chance, because if he had to play by others rules, he would possible blow up long before the first five minutes was up.. A Hour, with rules, and a person who was moderator, the dear Rush would have been blown to so small Pisces by Obama that not even the most lovely fundie would have seen where mr Rush are.. Because Limbaugh are no match for Obama, if the playing field is plain and the rules are the same for both parties..

Limbaugh doesn't deserve to be taken seriously so a response as ridiculous as this request would be appropriate. Laugh off the silly little boy and his antics.

I do love how much Limbaugh is in the spotlight; the more exposure he has to middle-road people the better it is for Obama.

57. Why not?
I see a lot of posts saying Obama has better things to do, or that Rush should have run for office if he want this.

As far as the first point, yes Obama needs to focus on actual problems not made up Rush fantasy catastrophes, but on the other hand, having a debate with piggyboy, and embarrassing him on national TV (would be even better) or radio with simply arguing with facts and a superior brain would solidify Obama's support and maybe draw a few moderate Republicans over. In the long run he would marginalize Rush and his listeners as "losers". I think Rush is so full of himself lately what with him being declared leader of the GOP and his headliner act at the CPAC that he bit off more than he can chew. Obama would destroy him in a fair open debate OUTSIDE of his hate cave of a studio. So if an independent network set it up with actual debate rules and time limits for each topic I say go for it!

And Rush running for office? That's a red herring. Limbaugh gets paid obscenely for his hate talk show, and he gets to be the 'defacto' leader of the GOP as well. Why would he?

But President Obama should also have his own list of things to debate. Like why a chickenhawk Rush would call soldiers who fought in Iraq and then criticized it, phoney soldiers. and so many other outrageous statements through the years.

I think it would be a win win. It would further split the Repukes. Those that would finally realize how embarrassingly wrong it is to worship Limpballs as their leader, and the rest who would rally around their leader to console him and harden their position claiming he won the debate no matter how the pundits scored it.

Bring 'im on
