Tweety just said Franken has high unfavorables in MN. Is that true?
And if so, is it because Coleman's crybaby routine is working?

1. the guy from Politico said it
and Chris asked if that was true. I'd be interested in the data as well.

4. I just googled for Franken's numbers & the only 2 hits were politico & the freeper site.
So, there you go. Ignore it, as Matthews should have.

5. Well, I'm here and...
I'd have to say that's true. A lot of people hate Al for some reason. Still, he won so they'll get to like him eventually.

6. People aren't crazy about Al, but I don't think his unfavorables are any worse than Coleman's. And
besides, Al won.

7. I've never heard of any unfavorables. There was a flap about not filing

something and he took care of it with an explanation.

What bothers me is that I thought his numbers should be much higher. He is great with crowds and is quite serious, but can make people laugh in a nano-second, when appropriate. I'm sure those who voted for Wellstone voted for him - that's why the numbers should have been higher, but Wellstone was up against a fight when he was campaigning against Coleman just before the crash.

What was galling is that the Minneapolis Star Tribune endorsed Coleman - a really traitorous act if you just look at those from Minneapolis - heavy Dem. But, the paper goes out to the entire State.

If you go to a red neck area of Minnesota and ask some people, you could come up with a statement made by Politico.

Coleman has said and done some slimey things. Franken is a gentleman. Franken and his lawyers have been smart, gracious, adult, respectful of the judges and the court system - and they haven't missed any opportunity to place Coleman and his lawyers in their place in a very civil way.

8. Your last sentence is the impression I've had.
It's seemed like Al has been classy while Norm has been a whinebag through the whole thing. And it also seems that Al's pretty much kept himself out of the national limelight, so I was wondering if there was some local dynamic I wasn't aware of.

9. I think that most people who voted for Barkley would have voted for Franken
I think that kept Franken's numbers down.
