An Open Letter To Rush Limbaugh
Dear Mr. Limbaugh:
It has come to my attention that you have recently announced to your radio audience your desire to publicly debate President Obama one on one on the issues.
It's too late now Rush.
If you really wanted to debate Barack Obama then you should have filed and run for President as a candidate in the Republican Party back in 2007 or 2008 when it really mattered.
Just in case you missed it, Barack Obama DID debate the nominee of the Republican Party, Senator John McCain of Arizona in a series nationally televised debates last fall.
In case you missed the results Barack Obama won - John McCain lost. Badly.
As you are a professional football officianado I'm sure you know what they say in the NFL:
Losers go home.
Your team lost Mr. Limbaugh and you were too afraid to even play the game when it actually counted.
Now that the game is over and your team lost it appears you want a debate do over?
Of course we all know that you don't want to put your own personal life up to 1% of the scrutiny to which those men and women who actually ran for President during 2007-2008 were subjected.
A number of these real candidates in either party were subjects of intense public scrutiny and suffered greatly often from your own radio microphone for their willingness to actually run for office including: Barack Obama, John Edwards, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Bill Richardson and Hillary Clinton.
Of course all of these men and women in both parties demonstrated a great deal more courage to stand up for the principles in which they believe than you ever will.
All you are really interested in doing is taking the cheap shot from the shadows and telling the big lie and distorting the truth to fit your nasty warped little viewpoint. You put your ideology above your allegiance to your country and your personal finances above even that.
Let's cut to the chase shall we Rush?
The President doesn't owe you a debate on the issues - you're a wannabe and frankly you haven't earned it.
If you want to debate President Obama one on one, you still have one more chance: 2012.
Put your money where your mouth is and run for President or sit down and shut up the hell up already.
Al Franken did just that and he's about to be seated as the next United States Senator from Minnesota any day now.
I suggest you start your exploratory committee now - the 2012 elections will be here before you know it.
Sincerely,
Douglas J. De Clue Orlando, FL
