4. people who think wallstreet does not matter
and that the DOW and Standard and poors index prices do not matter to "main street" are going to get a rude surprise in 4 or 5 months if these declines continue...............

5. I'm sure the market will work without government intervention...
The market will dictate the proper numbers on the Dow, don't you think? If it goes to 999, then that is the market at work?

8. Do you think the stock market numbers has more to do with job creation
Or do you think the job numbers have more to do with the stock market. When Main Street is healthy, then Wall Street will be healthy. The virus on Wall Street is the problem - not the solution.

9. my comment
was based on your "999" number. I am sure you picked that number out of the air but IF the DOW went to 999 then the SPX would be below 100 and to get there more than half of the 500 companies that make up that index would be bankrupt. job losses from such an event would be staggering..... however I do not believe such a scenario is possible, just sayin!!

10. I think anything is possible...
But I believe Wall St is more dependent on Main Street for recovery, than the other way around?

13. Unfortunately...
Wall Street can only cause bad things on Main St but Main Street can cause only good things on Wall Street. Something is wrong with that picture.

14. Just as I predicted months ago ... mid-6000's by spring.
Instead of saying the market is "down," people should be saying it's "priced about right" (and even that might be an exaggeration). An INFLATED stock market is dangerous to working folks. The notion that "higher is better" is an abomination.
