33. Unfortunately I doubt they were watching. Or caring.
Smackdowns do little good if you're preaching to the choir, instead of your target.

5. Those clips were the best I've seen of his show
because he completely exposed those yappers for who and what they are and who they're serving. Hint: it's not the small investor.

FWIW, I had a little sympathy for Santelli because those guys on the floor of the Dow aren't the boys making millions. They're the entry level guys who are in hock up to their eyeballs for their educations, their crap studio lofts in Soho, and everything else including the clothes on their backs. They're working on the expectation that they'll rise off the floor and into the carpeted areas and the big money. They think HGTV is reality and that silly people who overpaid for granite lined kitchens don't deserve anything but a boot in the ass.

Stewart likely realizes this too, and would have treated him respectfully as he treats most of his guests.

Pulling Santelli has to be one of the biggest tactical blunders since McCain lied to Letterman about canceling his appearance. You can blow off almost anything, but blowing off a comedic wit is not smart, at all.

For they are subtle and quick to anger.

19. Later in the show, he commented that
CNBC missing this so badly, in their area of supposed expertise, is equivalent to the Weather Channel interviewing Hurricane Katrina. He did a mock interview with Katrina. "Hurricane Katrina, I hear you may be packing death and destruction. Is that true?" Katrina: "Oh no, I'm fair and sunny." JS: "Well, OK then."

That was hilarious.

Don't get me wrong, it's way, way up there. But I think he did just as well - if not better - when he was on Crossfire. Wasn't it about two weeks later that show went away, and Tucker Carlson went looking for a new gig? I still love that...go Jon!!

I know Viacom owns Comedy Central, but CC used to air NBC programs like Conan O'Brien and still airs Scrubs.

32. Looks like they got to John Stewart
Edited on Fri Mar-06-09 03:56 AM by RandomThoughts
His tanks on his back just exploded in flames, Lettermen interview was horrid.

I think I can defend the fact that Jon Stewart took a dive.

Just a couple months ago, a guy did not show up on Lettermen(McCain) and Lettermen roasted him. Then yesterday a guy did not show up on Daily Show, and Stewart Roasted him.

They did not even mention this.

It truly is an upside world when comedians are the market analysts and the market analysts are the comedi....well, no, they suck at that too.
