Was I hallucinating? I just heard Sen. Evan Bayh refer to himself as a PROGRESSIVE
on the Ed Schultz show.

Did the Senator from Indiana have an overnight conversion??

1. I think he meant REGRESIVE
He's one of the Dems that needs to be challenged in the primaries.

2. It's all relative
Rush probably thinks of himself as a reasonable conservative.

5. Why not? It's a meaningless term, defined purely relatively.
Relative to Dick Lugar, he's a progressive. Relative to Dennis Kucinich, he isn't. Many people here seem to like to use the term however they see fit, so why shouldn't Bayh?

10. It's a DLC meme
They think if they try to pass themselves off as progressives, people are actually stupid enough to believe them.

Will Marshall of the Progressive Policy Insitute is a RW hack who is trying to rebrand what a "progressive" is to mean old school GOPer.

Bayh fits in puuuuurfectly with ol' Will's idea of a "progressive".

12. We need to define Progressive. Otherwise the DLC and blue dogs will ruin it,
just like they ruined the term "liberal."
