Please tell me that this nut is not in the house or senate. that such ignorant people are not involved in any government process.

Where do these 'republicans' get off saying that "Health care is a privilege not a right."
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/GOP_Rep._Healthcare_not_r...

The more those people open their mouth, the more fascist they sound and it happens on a daily bases. From Limbaugh to Coulter to the remaining minority of whining republicans on the hill who demonstrate every day just how much they are against the people and all in for their corporations.

Republicans and their ilk are vile, unAmerican cretins and should be ignored so we can move forward and not backwards.

WE NEED A NATIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, NOTHING ELSE WILL DO.

We already have half of it with Medicad and Medicare, it just needs to be expanded to every one else. Their is nothing wrong with Socialism, just ask Europe. Socialism comes from the Government doing what it is suppose to be doing, that is, taking care of its citizens.

Why is it that the US does everything ass backwards? If 20 countries do something that works, I would assume it is worth heavy consideration for us to follow suit. Cuba has a better health care system then we do, that just pathetic.

End the cooperate strangle hold of our health care.

3. He needs to clarify this statement so that us mean ole liberals don't take it out of context.
What he means is health care is for the privileged.

Health care is for the privileged.
Its clear, concise, and perfectly summarizes the GOP health care philosophy.

5. And it is now a philosophy that only some Repugs are holding on to
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 08:09 PM by truedelphi
Most of those are in office and are under the sway of lobbyist money.

Being the victim of a medical bankruptcy, I don't know how many times over the past two years friends have called to say that their fascist, RW brother-in-law, or uncle, or whoever had seen Sicko and agreed with Michael Moore totally.

Those of us not in office know that we can be denied insurance due to pre-existing conditions, or be priced out of the insurance market. It is only people in office or the top of the line execs who can talk about the obligation people have to pay for it themselves.

4. He has an excellent point though
And on a legal standpoint, he is probably correct...

So admend the constitution to make it a "right".

Then pass a bill requiring all states to be in compliance with the constitution and offer a state-owned affordable insurance program with 180 days.

Problem solved.

6. i agree
that we should have universal healthcare.
but this...

"Why is it that the US does everything ass backwards? If 20 countries do something that works, I would assume it is worth heavy consideration for us to follow suit. Cuba has a better health care system then we do, that just pathetic. "

lots of countries do it better than the US. cuba is NOT one of them.

7. I was stressing a point....
perhaps I should have used Taiwan, but I went with the smallest for emphasis. Cuba, as small as it is, has a better health care system then the US.
