Dems Start Calling Rush “Leader Limbaugh”

As you may have heard, Rush Limbaugh suggested today that Senator Ted Kennedy will be dead before health care reform is achieved.

DCCC executive editor Brian Wolfe just fired back at Limbaugh in a statement, saying that what Limbaugh had said was outrageous. That’s not too surprising. What’s funny, though, is the new coinage for Limbaugh:

“Leader Limbaugh minimizes the struggle of hardworking Americans without access to affordable health care and demonizes a patriotic Senator who has spent his life fighting so that every person has the opportunity to live the American dream.

“Leader Limbaugh crossed the line. National Republicans must stand up to their leader, Rush Limbaugh, and tell him that enough is enough.”

“Leader Limbaugh?” The DCCC confirms that this is their first time test-driving the new phrase.

It’s awfully close to “Dear Leader,” isn’t it?

3. Rahm and Co. needs to leave this alone.........
Rush is doing such a good job of stringing himself up, he doesn't need our help. In fact, I think all this attention on Rush makes the Dem leadership look a little childish and petty. We need to be 100% on the issues and leave the schoolkid rhetoric to the obstructionist fringe. Otherwise this WILL come back to haunt us.

6. I kind of like the idea of so many new people tuning in; when they
actually hear what he has to say, like what was said about Kennedy today, they'll form their own opinions.
And it's not so much the Dems making mountains out of molehills, it's more the m$m, like Tweety devoting entire shows to it.
I'm still waiting for a rethug to denounce him as leader; still haven't heard a word.

11. There is a moral side to this.
Basically Dems saying "Hey, if this is the guy who really calls the shots here, we'd like to hear directly from him." I agree they shouldn't project "hee hee, they're walking right into our trap here" mentality, because that looks (and is) childish. What I see is just a dialectic. Rahm thinks Rush really does call the shots with the Republican party, so he's bringing him forward. Obama doesn't seem to see him as much of a collaborator, and he'd rather work with Republicans willing to reach across the aisle. So who's opinion is dominant here is really a matter of Republican choice. A lot of working class republicans I know like Rush a lot, and even like Rahms comments on him being the intellectual force...They like him because he says what he thinks, he doesn't beat around the Bush. And the fact is that maybe Rahm is right, maybe this IS the best thing for national dialogue, somebody who forcefully advances conservative opinion, on the record. Maybe its best for Dems that this happen, so a clear unobscured statement of conservative principles can be refuted, or who knows, maybe we'll learn something from Rush. The point is Rahm is not acting immorally: If Rush is what conservatives believe, lets get it on the table and talk about it.

8. It must be fun to give Republican congressman shit with this.
"Anyway, here's the new bill. Don't respond right away, we know you need some time to confer with your master. But let us know what he thinks."

15. And, Leader Limbaugh is too stupid to know
that a major part of the Recovery Plan for America is to fix the Health Care in our country.

Maybe the republicons should think about getting someone as their leader who is smarter than limbaugh like michael steele was before he got on bended knee and apologized to the rushafication of the gop.
