Ditech..(financing by GMAC)
Edited on Fri Mar-06-09 11:39 PM by SoCalDem
the same GMAC that recently "became" a bank..so they could "participate" in the TARP funding.... the same GMAC that is/was/used to be the auto financing arm of GM auto company....

They were "so broke" they needed TARP funds, but now they are aligned with DITECH?? one of the most EEEEEVil of the sub-prime/predatory lenders ever..

Is ANYONE watching what these freaks are doing with the money we all gave them? Did GMAC even DESERVE to participate in the TARP.. All during the switch-over they were running ads for 4+% on CDs, when..
most other banks were/are paying well less than 3%

and while I'm at it...

I am SICK AND TIRED of seeing all the idiotic ads for "investment" schemes on tv.. I don't WANT to "Ask Chuck" anything except.."Dude..HOW WERE YOU SO WRONG, and where's all our money"?

Ameritrade is not even the least bit interesting to most of us these days, since many are "investing" in more pedestrian things...like gasoline for the cars, rent, food, job-hunting expenses"...

Right now MOST people loathe you "investment-types", so plastering the TV screen with your lame ads..especially the ones with "surfin' executive" 4th grader graphics" & the ones with the etch-a-skethed "almost real" people who cheerfully tell us how they "plan to start all over"..well we're DONE with you all..so save some of that TARP money...,

and the smilie-faced chearleaders who tout the green-ness of oil companies..well you ladies ( kids) can go back to doing the drug warnings, while we watch the butterflies swooping over the pretty tulip fields.. you know the warnings.. the ones where you tell us about how the sneezing medicine you're selling just might give us lymphoma, leg pain, exzema, or explosive diarrhea...

ENOUGH with the stupid advertising..

1. DITECH is masterful at the mortgage bait and switch.
They fish borrowers in by advertising rates that the vast majority cannot qualify for.
The current ad they run in my market is for 4.875% on a 30-year fixed rate.
This rate is only available for purchases (no refinances) on primary residences with 40%downpayment and a 780 credit score.

Customers call me all the time demanding I match their rate and I've got to explain the disingenuous nature of their advertising practices. All this while sucking up TARP money? These guys are guilty of peeing in the pool and then asking for chlorine.

2. Vultures (and I like real vultures, especially the way they fly.)
I haven't heard about DiTech in a long time, but I remember their commercials nonstop during the nineties, yes?

Reeducate me, please!

3. this is true
but just remember, historically speaking in ANY asset class, the time to buy is when there is blood on the streets.

iow, everybody lurved stocks at dow 13k and 14k and they HATE them now @ dow 6.5k.

but there are people with cash on the side, who are scooping up distressed "baby thrown out with the bathwater" investments right now (stocks, real estate, etc.) and will be loving it years from now when people say "man, i wish i had bought ^^^ when it was that cheap!"

for those of you who think oil is cheap (it's down huge from its peak), you can buy USO or oil futures, and when and if oil ramps , yer set.

it also hedges against a rise in fuel prices.
