RASMUSSEN: Republicans See Their Party As Leaderless
:wow:

Republicans See Their Party As Leaderless
Monday, March 09, 2009

Who's in charge here?

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of Republican voters say their party has no clear leader, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Another 17% are undecided.

Just five percent (5%) view either John McCain, the GOP's unsuccessful 2008 presidential candidate, or new party chairman Michael Steele as the party's leader.

Two percent (2%) see conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh in that role, and one percent (1%) name McCain's running mate, Alaska Govenror Sarah Palin. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Minority Leader John Boehner are each seen as GOP leader by less than one-half of one percent.

Democrats have no question who's in charge. Two-thirds of the party's voters (66%) see President Barack Obama as their leader. Nobody else reaches even the five percent (5%) level.

"Deep in your occult little Republicon Homelander Heart, you know you want America to FAIL, and you know that I am the perfect embodiment of all the Wide-stance, Diaper-clad, Viagra-pumped, Oxycontin-popping, Chickenhawk FAMILY VALUES that have made modern Republiconism what it is today. Bow-wow down before ME, your Fearless (smirk) Leader."

- Rush DraftDodger Limbaugh (R - Propagandist)

4. File This Under: No Shit
Yes...there's a lot of schadenfruede in reading this. It reaffirms my long-felt conviction that the GOOP long ago overplayed their hand and all that they stood for would be totally rejected. Sadly it took thousands of needless deaths and the destruction of the economy for it to happen, but we are where we are.

The GOOP has been in free fall since last year's primaries...shreaded between the fundies, the dittoheads, the neo-cons, the "fiscal conservatives" and party establishment that is papered over by the corporate media and their common hate of Democrats. They remain in denial as to how badly they've been losing elections and connection with a majority of the electorate. A telling statistic is that following last year's election 1 in 3 still admitted at being a rushpublican, but today that number is 1 in 4. The rift gets wider as the denial and discconect gets deeper.

What was real telling was the CPAC straw poll...none of the candidates drew more than 25% of the vote, and this is among the "loyalists". If they can't unite, this party is in real trouble.

Cheers...

8. This is Rasmussen, the GOP's personal polling place. They usually
frame a question to benefit the GOOP. Guess it didn't work this time. :D
