...on election night.

I don't get people who get their asses to the polls, then stop voting after the first page of the poll.

6. There were a few reasons for the close vote. The third-party candidate got 15K votes, and
Franken wasn't the strongest candidate in the world,

7. In this case, it was first-time voters, who went to the polls
to vote for President Obama, and that was all they went to the polls for. I saw several when I voted. They registered at the polling place, took their ballots into the booth, were in there for about 30 seconds, then came out.

The fault in this was that Franken ignored these voters completely. He ran on his own account, and made little to no effort to link his name with Obama's. I was shocked by this, and mentioned it several times, including once directly to Franken at a gathering.

There was still no concerted campaign to get these new voters, who everyone knew were going to turn out in large numbers, to vote not only for Obama, but for Franken as well, just below the Presidency on the ballot.

I blame Franken and the DFL party in MN for the delay in the Senatorial race. They could easily have avoided it.
