4. Is Gregory still on at that time slot?? I thought David Shuster had taken over
that slot since Gregory got Meet The Press.

Shuster I rather like at times, not so Gregory. :puke:

3. I wonder how he will get along with Keith
He's been very critical of Keith in the past. He felt Keith was deserving of his current popularity.

5. Good for him! That's one of the ways MSNBC auditions for new
permanent hosts. I think Big Eddie will do well!

6. Eddie is a blowhard
But he's a hell of a lot better than David Gregory. I still don't know if I could sit through an entire hour of Big Ed. I prefer Thom Hartmann or Mike Papantonio. Actually Mike would be a solid progressive anchor. Eddie is a bit too much a DLC'er.

I like David Schuster and glad he took over Gregory's old show.

7. You know what I'd love...
A show with Ed Schultz and Catherine Crier...a sort of "tag team" thing where they wouldn't really be together all that much, but would start and finish the show together. They could go their own ways and do their own interviews in between. The two are so different that it might make for an interesting program.

13. A MSNBC tv show for Ed Shultz is a GOOD thing.
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 01:48 PM by shireen
i'm not particularly a fan, nor do i agree with some of his views. But generally speaking, I've come to like him.

If Ed Schultz gets a tv show on MSNBC, it will be a very good thing. He appeals to a demographic that we need: middle-aged middle-class almost-middle-of-the-road straight white males and their wives. I would not insult him by saying he could be the Liberal answer to Rush Limbaugh, but he could appeal to many of Rush's listeners, at least the ones who are willing to use their brain and consider other points of view. Sometimes, the messenger is just as important as the message.

In an ideal world, I'd love to see Thom Hartmann get a tv show. But I think he's too cerebral for MSNBC. However, I could see Thom in a Charlie Rose-type show on PBS. It would be less stressful than doing a news show, and he'd do an absolutely incredible job as an interviewer.

10. Hm, I don't know. I like Ed, but
does he have the ability to do a whole hour without callers? I mean, usually on his radio show he will get on one theme, talk about it and take callers--sometimes for the entire three hour show. It will be interesting to see how he does.

11. Too bad "Democracy Now!", a much more informative show, is on at the same
time and I much prefer Amy Goodman to Ed Schultz anyway.
