Federal judge: Blagojevich can't have US Attorney Fitzgerald thrown off his corruption case

A federal judge has turned down former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's request to have U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald thrown off his corruption case.

Blagojevich made the request because he didn't like how Fitzgerald had talked about him. But U.S. District Chief Judge James Holderman says he found no legal precedent for Blagojevich's request.

Blagojevich had argued for the removal because of what he called inflammatory comments made by Fitzgerald and the head of the Chicago FBI office when Blagojevich was arrested in December.

At the time, Fitzgerald alleged that Blagojevich tried to sell President Barack Obama's former Senate seat to the highest bidder and that his actions would make Abraham Lincoln "roll over in his grave."
