Gen. Odierno: Combat Troops Could Stay In Mosul Past Obama's June 30 deadline

Fighting in Mosul may mean U.S. combat troops there may stay past a June 30 deadline for leaving Iraqi cities, the top U.S. military commander in Iraq.

The troops would remain in Mosul if Iraqi officials asked them to stay, Gen. Ray Odierno told ABC News in an exclusive interview.

"If they ask us to stay we will probably stay and help them out. If they ask us to just provide them the advising and training support, then we'll do that," Odierno said.
