Rove and Miers WILL NOT be sworn in...last 8 years are swept under the rug...
Edited on Mon Mar-09-09 05:45 PM by cynatnite
I admit I'm a little behind the times and I didn't read the details of the deal in getting Rover and Miers to testify. I knew it would be behind closed doors. No surprise there. I did hear on the news they would be under oath...uh, not so fast...

--------

According to a deal they agreed to, Rove and Miers will not have to be sworn in, but because they are providing information to a congressional committee, they could be subject to perjury charges if they lie. The interviews will be conducted in private sessions and transcripts will be made public only after all witnesses have been questioned, in order to avoid inappropriate coordination of testimony. And the committee has agreed not to ask Rove and Miers about direct communications with President Bush.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2009/03/rove_and_miers_under_oath_fina.html

This basically means nobody will be under oath...again...and that anything they talked about with bush won't be a part of the discussion. So if bush told Rover and Miers to fire those "unpatriotic" lawyers or to go waterboard somebody...it won't be a part of the record. bush doesn't get held responsible for jack shit.

Rover and Miers will go back to their nice comfortable lives. All the criminal activities over the last 8 years are forgotten.

4. look--they don't ever have to do that, because it's assumed that one tells the truth to Congress.
and they still get prosecuted for perjury, even though they didn't mouth the oath. If the prosecutor can prove perjury.

It's the other thing, the one remaining area of privilege which is going to screw us. But getting that lifted was never in the cards anyway. So there is nothing new or amazing in this set of facts.

We've been screwed all along, just because we are powerless plebes, and the aristos run everything for their own benefit. When is that going to change?

NEVER

9. transcribed, but no video, so it will just make page 19.
it won't be secret, but it will be dumped. compare that to 5 seconds of Jeremiah Wright captured on video.
