In Gawd They Trusted...Now Our Country's Busted.
Our future and our American dream was BushWhacked by a crew of thieves flying Gawd's flag and "preying every day."

"MORALITY" is what the people voted for in 2000 and 2004, according to all the talking heads on TV, after those two sElections.

"MORALITY" sure does cost a lot of cash and blood.

I wish they'd trusted reality instead of "MORALITY"...

2. "pretending" is the GOP's way of life.
They "Create Their Own Reality" and ignore what is real. They have even tried to fool each other and have pulled that off for the most part.

The GOP mis-leadership has put "trust" on the endangered species list, with all their lying and pretending.

4. Even trash would feel slighted being compared to the likes
of Rush Limbo and George Bush.

The MSM still present the republicans as if they were the salt of the Earth and all knowing about everything. Doing so lowers the MSM's credibility too, I think. Nobody trusts the GOP or the MSM anymore. Too many lies have been exposed, too much damage done. Without the fear blitz that Bush, Cheney the MSM kept up for 8 years, the GOP's main selling point is toast.

say they presented the *two sides* of the issue.

16. No shit. I work with a big bush** fan (at least he was when they
were subverting the Constitution and starting wars with impunity) who now claims that he was FOOLED DAMMIT!

Of course this moran was the only person who ever tried to use the old "it's safer to walk down the streets of Baghdad than it is Washington D.C." line on me. He only did it once. I never heard him refer to that again after I was done with him.

He hates it when I tell him that he owns this mess.

18. "He hates it when I tell him that he owns this mess."
A rank and file republican can't handle the truth. They even lie to themselves about things that don't amount to anything at all. Bush even lied about the weather. I guess they do that to keep their lying skills sharp. They even believe their own lies after they tell them a couple of times.

You're right about how to handle the liars...don't EVER let them get away with it. If they get away with telling a lie a few times it becomes proof in their twisted minds, that their obvious lie is a "fact," regardless of how clearly that lie may run counter to provable reality, to an intelligent, free thinking, investigative, truth seeking, individual.

So the TRUTH is, that it's easier for a republican to deal with living a lie based existence, than to be faced with understanding the way things are in reality and to ever except their share of the blame for the way things stand. Republicans are from my observation, like spoiled neglected/uncorrected brats who never grow up and who never learn to except responsibility.

5. The "Dream" Was A Myth
Now if you happen to be born of the right "bloodlines", the last 30 years was one big party, but for the rest of us, the concept of the "American Dream" was bullshit. I saw the government become a kleptocracy where the regulators and the regulated gamed the rules, unions were busted driving down wages and opportunities for millions and a rushpublican party that grew in power and influence through intolerance and privilidge.

The GOOP covered their scam with all sorts of big lies...ones the corporate media regurgitated over and over so that it became "conventional wisdom"...Democrats were weak on defense, spendthrifts and dirty f'kin hippies. We were told how the rushpublicans were the grown ups and responsible. It'll be one of the greatest scams pulled on the American people...and its still being pulled...just turn on your teevee.

Cheers...

Trickle Down Misery as far as the eye can see. "We" trusted and now we're busted.

It's hard to deal with the reality that the American people were ever foolish enough to have trusted the GOP and the TV...

7. Now Who Trusted???
I've always said that I was able to succede despite...and was grateful for the respite of rushpublican tyranny during the Clinton years that helped me establish my own business. There was no way that could have happened under either booooosh.

Maybe I was clarivoyant or something, but I saw things get worse in the 80's, not better. The GOOP likes to paint it as some golden age, but I still remember seeing prices constantly rise and incomes either stagnate or not keep pace. When I bought my first home in 1987, I "lucked" out and found a 10.25 fixed rate mortgage. Yep, the GOOP still tries to paint Carter as having created the financial mess, but here was 6 1/2 years after and the rates were still double digits. And this impressed people? Surely not me.

What we witnessed was the ultimate big lie...say it enough and broadcast it far and wide and people will believe it. In retrospect, it was a tremendous opportunity squandered. Right now we're paying the price for the past 30 years...my hopes are the rushpublicans pay for it for the next 30 years.

Cheers...

Edited on Tue Mar-10-09 07:20 AM by Hubert Flottz
I'd say it's about time for them to do some paying, since they have had it made for 30 years.

Reagan started mass de-regulation, union busting on steroids and demolished the fairness doctrine and the snowball has gotten bigger every year since Reagan came to Washington.

I think Reagan was as bad as W.

9. Worse...Far Worse
The Fairness Doctrine didn't destroy radio anywhere as bad as the elimination of regulations that mandated stations carry a specific amount of public service and news programming. Radio stations were required to have "local control" on their operations and be responsible to their communities. Raygun then pushed for relaxing ownership rules that led to the elimination of the "duopoly" rules under Poppy booosh that now has most of the radio, teevee and cable operations in the hands of a vested few. It destroyed both access and opportunity. It replaced local voices with satellites and made it all but impossible to hold a station accountable. It went from a license to serve the public trust to one to make money.

The "Raygun Revolution" made it cool to look down on labor as either overpaid or corrupt and that only the corporate "fathers" knew how to bring prosperity to all. Just trust the rich...they obviously must be smarter cause they have all the money. The more the get, the "smarter" we all are. And that was just one of the many Raygun era big lies.

The difference between Raygun and booosh was that Raygun never had a rubber stamp congress...there was no Tip O'Neill to stop or slowdown the implementations of the "policies" these goons had really wanted during the Raygun years.

:hi:

10. In a lot of ways worst
But of course the persons, Reagan and Bush, were nothing but the face of the people who were responsible for all this. They themselves had no idea as to how to be a pResident other than the two shoes, pants, shirt, coat and tie part. They weren't thinkers they were stooges and nothing more.

14. The "Reality" the GOP "Created" was as...
Bullshit Based as the "MORALITY" that the GOP has created.

The GOP Terrorized America just as much as the Terra-ists did.

terrorize

1. To fill or overpower with terror; terrify.
2. To coerce by intimidation or fear.

Bin Laden used airplanes to terrorize America.

Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Rove, Tom Ridge and their other assorted GOP underlings, used the TV to terrorize America. Cheney even came back on the TV after Obama became president and tried to terrorize us again.

22. The GOP has gotten caught is so many lies nobody but a...
total idiot would still have any faith in what they have to say. They did it to themselves and they have no one else to blame for their having been fired by the voters. If you or I screwed up on the job as many times as the GOPers have and every time the boss asked you something you told him a bug stupid sounding lie, you wouldn't last a day on the job either.

Do I feel sorry for a single republican in Washington?...HELL NO!

Do the pubs feel sorry for the people suffering because of the GOP's eight years of greed driven stupidity?...HELL NO!

The Pubs are still trying to blame all their own shortcomings, on the very people that they have victimized the most...the working poor.
