INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- The fire marshal said people trying to get into a job fair at the Holiday Inn will not be allowed entrance unless they have pre-registered.
The crowd, which is estimated at about 1,000, is causing safety concerns.
The city of Independence issued a new release saying, "Due to the overwhelming response of people attending the Job Fair today at the Holiday Inn in Independence, Ohio, the volume of attendance and vehicle traffic has filled the available parking at the Holiday Inn and also spilled over into neighboring businesses. The Manager of the Job Fair, the Holiday Inn General Manager, and the City have issued the notice to all attending, planning to attend, or in route to attend that if you have not pre-registered, please do not attempt to attend because you will not be permitted into the Job Fair. Thank you."
Thousands turned out to the Holiday Inn in Independence Tuesday morning despite the rainy weather.
People stood in long lines and said they were ready to get back to work.
