If gay marriage is legalized, this will of course cause more young men to become gay. I'm sure we all know that the mere image of a gay wedding or even a gay couple together immediately emanates a gay force field that will cause the young and the weak of faith to become gay themselves.

Once this starts occurring, young girls will feel compelled to "rescue" the unwilling male victims. Everyone knows that heterosexual contact instantly cures people of being gay.

And that's why the fundies are so afraid of it. Gay marriage by its definition is threatening to the fundamentalists patriarchical system of family. If two men marry - who will submit to them? Which one submits to the other? Because you can't have marriage without submission - at least according to the fundies I know about.

And two women? They cannot possibly manage without a man. If they try and are successful? Then that's a very real danger to the men who would rather keep a woman as a pet or a slave.

Gay marriage challenges the notion that marriage is a dominant/submissive relationship. The fundies don't want a marriage of equals. It goes against their preaching.
