Foxes gather in London to discuss guarding henhouse.
That should be the headline on this article:

instead of
Bernanke says G20 should guide regulatory revamp

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090310/bs_nm/us_usa_fed_bernanke;_ylt=A0wNcxps4bZJAc0AFAfv5rEF

In essence, Bernanke and Gethner now are talking about .....regulation of banks!

but
they want ONE single regulator for USA banks, ( the Fed Reserve, most likely)
and they want all other countries to agree to their rules.

That's my take...

anyone else see it differently?

1. A guy on Moyers the other week said it well.
"I have no problem with the poacher turning into a game warden."

2. In the end it all depends on their loyalties
Vilsack, for example, is already onto some good things - things that Monsanto is none too happy about

6. Yeah I have heard that. Back when he ran for president
that week or so, one of his first speeches was a flamer against Bush's war. I couldn't believe it. He is capable of learning new tricks when he is presented with facts.

3. The FED has done such a MARVELOUS job in this collapse...
Why not just give them even more power? What could go wrong?

7. Somehow, I don't see the rest of the G20 taking us very seriously anymore
They all trusted our financial acumen, and eagerly bought up our "investment vehicles", and what did it get them??.. a fast trip into the shitter.. with us too, but look at all the money this mess has cost their governments.. They cannot be happy with the US.
