U.S Congress and Senate Should be Drug Tested Weekly At their Own Expense.
Recently, Florida State Senator Mike Bennett (R-Bradenton) said all unemployed people should be drug tested if they receive benefits.

Most people have been waitng since November of Last year to try and recover any benefits at all, but that being said, the current spin here is PURE REPUBLICAN BULLSHIT.

In the LTE of the local newspaper, one lady confided, "if these people are going to sit aroung collecting unemployment.. they should be drug tested so we don't support their habit."

The spin here is, that unemployed people are victims of their own doing... the economy and the politicians had NOTHING to do with their bad luck. People WANT to be unemployed.

May I offer a gigantic "BULLSHIT".

I think we should mandate that all Florida Lawmakers, Senate and House, be tested weekely at their own expense. I would include ALCOHOL as parat of the drug screen.

Also, I would like to know what members of the FLordia Legislature are taking Lunestra, Viagra and
Fluoxetine (Prozac)
Paroxetine (Paxil, Seroxat)
Escitalopram (Lexapro, Esipram)
Citalopram (Celexa)
Sertraline (Zoloft)
Fluvoxamine (Luvox)

Let's Drug TEST our LEADERS and see what we get.. huh folks?

2. Why should we test JFK... was he a drug addict?
He had back pain.. taking pain medication. So, why not ask.. what is the BAC of John Boehner?
What is the BAC of Newt Gingrich and Tom Delay? Which Senators and CONgressmen are taking Prozac?

Why is it OK to assume that all unemployed people are , "Sitting around doing drugs"?

3. The drug coctail JFK took for his cronic back
pain was contained some of the strongest pain killers available at the time. His politial handlers took great steps to see that his true physical condition was masked for the American people.

4. I never thought it was that big of a deal.
At least compared to FDR's abuse of anabolic steroids, Teddy Roosevelt's Ecstasy production facility, or Andrew Jackson's lead paint chip addiction.

6. By the standards of today, it probably would have been
enough to keep him from being elected. JMO

5. I think that were they to pass such a rule or law it would be unconstitutional
Members of Congress can not be arrested while performing their duties or obstructed from going or coming from those duties. The drug test requirement - specified for members of Congress - would be obstructing the coming and goings of them and because they are named by title it would be implicit they were about their duties.

Not a lawyer but that's how it looks to me.

8. They should also have to eschew anesthesia for any medical procedure
No drugs means NO FUCKING DRUGS!

I would include nicotine, caffeine and MSG too.

In fact anything that kills pain or makes you feel good is evil, ungodly, anti-christian and must be eliminated from the purity which is American life.
