What's Nancy Skinner talking about?
Listened to her for 40 minutes on the way home. She kept urging everyone to call XM to tell them to keep her on the air. I never did hear the details. Anyone know what's up?

1. Maybe Randi May Be Coming Back Soon?
Maybe Randi's come close to signing on with whoever out there and is coming back? She is the ratings grabber for that time, after all.

2. Well, after 18 mos of near constant preemptions of XM167
Edited on Wed Mar-11-09 06:43 PM by hlthe2b
and after being notified I would have to pay increased $$ for my second radio and to keep getting online access-- unless I pre-paid the entire subscription for 1 or more years (this after all the "promises" that the merger would not result in higher fees.... Finally, I took the time (90 minutes on hold) to politely, but firmly complain about what they had done to the ONLY progressive talk channel and ultimately to cancel one of my two radio subscriptions. I gather this is not news to them, as they certainly were aware of what I was referring to. A year ago, when the preemptions started, no one seemed to know what I was talking about. They do now.

So, yes, I imagine XM is hearing quite a bit about channel 167 and their lineup. I miss the years when XM 167 was listenable throughout the day and even weekends--albeit with lots of repeated material. I miss the years when MSNBC could be heard on XM. I miss the days (pre-merger) when XM was something I gladly paid for each month before the worst of Sirius (aka their 'best') was forced on me--on dedicated XM stations, whether I wanted it, or not. RIght now, I feel like a chump, but have determined to cut back but still support the service for another year. Come on, xm.

Back to the point, however. I suspect Nancy Skinner does know that her time is limited with XM. Malloy has a following, Rhodes has a following. Both can self-syndicate (as do Thom Hartman and Ed Schultz) and XM would snap them up. Nancy is ok, but just ok. She'll have a major challenge, I think to succeed in this climate.

3. XM has started to suck
The weekends are horrible, but out here in the boonies, any liberal voice is a breath of fresh air.
Nancy's ok, but I thought maybe they were putting on someone better.

4. Nancy's hardly had a chance to get her feet under her.
I don't know that it's fair to judge her so soon.

As for the Sirius XM situation, it has to do with the fact that they will not be carrying her show as of Monday. No, there is no word of Randi coming back (as yet) so it has nothing to do with Randi. What they're replacing her with I have no idea.
