1. Ain't that the truth!
I complained about something similar yesterday:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=5223469&mesg_id=5223469

It's like the exchange of information in the modern world can't happen except via Twitter.

3. I took the OP's tone as sarcasm, rather than as a sincere accusation of payola
But CNN would grind to an immediate halt if it stopped grabbing and airing opinions from the Twittering masses.

4. Twitter is just dumb!
I've got enough to worry/think about in my OWN life.

I don't need to know that my sister is having "milk & cookies, MMMMMMmmmm" with her daughter right now. :eyes:

People will only post the "good stuff" that they are doing.....not that they took their child to get the worts burned off their feet (not a serious condition, but that they're in a lot of pain right now).....THAT's REAL LIFE....and my child would just "die" from embarassment if anyone 'knew' - that she had warts on her feet! :eyes:)

People aren't gonna twitter that they just applied to unemployment (and "Yeh" I might be eligible to food stamps ~ which I will go drive 20 minutes to an area "where no one knows me" to actually USE them).

Twitter is just *useless* d*umb.....do these people who are promoting twitter think people are going to 'twit'.....I'm off to see my mistress now? :eyes: I just ordered flowers!

Twitter is just useless/stupid!

Well, maybe in Texas & Florida...it's all "good"

15. Florida has a long history of corruption......well, at least since the 1950's and the widespread
use of air-conditioning.....hence, when a lot of people would want to actually LIVE there......Think "DEVELOPMENT $$$$$$"

Lately.....the (s)election of 2000 *and all of THAT* ..... and, personally.....

the *handling* of court records. Records are 'easily disappeared'....and they *regularly are disappeared* in Florida, in my experience. Must be the heat or something? :eyes:

How's that?

8. A better question would be
how much money do TV morons save mentioning twitter instead of working?

10. I heard Twitter mentioned on the radio the day after the election.
I knew about it before that from Lifehacker and Merlin Mann. I thought of it as something kids used to keep up with each other but not really interesting for anyone else.

Then, on the Wednesday after the election I was driving a remote stretch of Montana highway and decided to search the radio for some election commentary. All I could find was some far off crazy christian station. They were interviewing some guy who claimed to be an expert on spreading the gospel through technology. They asked him why he thought the Democrats did so well this time. He said that Democrats were better at technological innovations like Twitter and that's why they won.

Then he suggested that religious people needed to work to close the "Twitter Gap" (he didn't really use the phrase "Twitter Gap", I made that part up :))

My personal opinion is that the righties think they're going to use Twitter as some kind of organizing tool. They hope to get their base checking constantly for updates from: their kook congress critters, pundits and bloviaters like Rush, and their Mega-Pastors.

11. Evan Williams owns Twitter.
He used to own "Blogger" but it was bought by Google. Then he founded Odeo before Twitter.

I'm willing to bet Google will buy Twitter from him too.

I doubt he's paying people in the media to use the site. Twitter gets like 60 million unique hits a month. He probably makes more than enough money from advertising on his site.
