WOW! Obama won my congressional district! In KANSAS!!
Obama Won the Kansas 3rd Congressional District

I know the election was months and months ago, but my attention was drawn to the fact Swing State Project has finished their breakdown of which candidate for president won each of the congressional districts in Kansas. That breakdown produced some absolutely mind-altering news: Barack Obama WON the Kansas 3rd.

No, this isn't some crazy, left wing conspiracy- Barack Obama, Democrat, actually carried one of Kansas's congressional districts!

It took everyone a little longer than usual to figure out what the actual result was in the KS-03 because of the fact Douglas County is split between the KS-03 and the KS-02, so you actually had to get down into the precinct level numbers to split it out. When you do, the end numbers for the district are:

Obama: 187,372
McCain: 177,814
Other: 5,186

That means Obama won Congressman Dennis Moore's district with nearly 51% of the vote- not what you call a landslide, but a massive, massive shift when you consider the fact Senator John Kerry only received 44% in the exact same district four years ago.

2. At least he's a Democrat
The GOP has run some crazy wingers against him. If any of them was my rep, I would have to move. Brownback is bad enough. LOL
