Edited on Thu Mar-12-09 12:17 AM by Up2Late
Anyone remember the stink The Disney Company made when cartoonist Burke Breathed (Bloom County, Outland, Opus) created Mortimer Mouse, a sort of an evil cousin to Micky Mouse? Well...

Tonight's South Park show has not only not only a very obvious Micky Mouse, but they have him being a jerk and kicking the shit out of one of The JoanAss Brothers.

This is going to be fun to see what Disney does tomorrow!

3. It was a great south park.
South Park is hit or miss usually, but this is one of the classic's. And I don't think there is any doubt it was supposed to be Mickey Mouse.

Even I, a lover of cartoons like Family Guy and Futurama, found better uses of my time after the Mr. Hanky Christmas Poo special

11. OMG: The Mouse Turds have hit the fan!!!
I'll have to watch the Orlando Sentinel to see what happens...As you know we are at the center of Mouseworld's universe here in Orlando and it will no doubt provoke a mouse-shit storm here in this town.

As they say around these parts: You don't mess with the Mouse...

24. Back "in the day" it was in a Lee Road strip mall, but it looks like they re-opened it!!!
...at 4732 S. Kirkman Road, which (if I still lived in my 1991-1992 apartment) would be just down the street my apartment! Check it out:

<http://orlando.metromix.com/bars-and-clubs/photogallery/jj-whispers/284558/content>

But original version was a LOT bigger and had a LOT more Mauve colored furniture and matching Mauve walls in the big room with the stage. And the other part of the club, where the "party people" spent most of their time "breaking it down" was almost all Black Lacquer furniture and smoke machines, with multi-level dance floors.

I was just looking at Google Maps and it looks like it was at Lee Road and Adanson Ave. (facing Adanson Ave.) in that be square building sort of behind the McDonald's.

32. Yeah, probably a hotel (non-locals) crowd down there near Universal Studios...
...Btw, I just looked at that Adanson Ave. (at Lee Road) location, and that is the old J. J. Whispers location and the front of the former club is still exactly the same as it was "back in the day" except that it's just an empty store front now. If you go to the Google Maps Street view at 5134 Adanson Street, Orlando,FL, you'll see the pink stucco front with a red curb in front and a thing that sort of looks like a stucco smoke stack sticking up, that was covered in pink and white neon type signs.

The whole pot thing aside, Libertarians like Trey and Matt are still corporatist water carriers and taxophobe stooges. I'm sorry, but after 28 years of being correct, I don't really feel like "laughing at myself".

38. OH BS! They make fun of everything that is extreme and ridiculous, like your broad generalizations
You've clearly have only seen the episodes you've read about and don't understand the deeper, underlying level of the show. :grr:

Name a pop-culture, over hyped topic, they've made fun of it or will in the future, and that includes the deification of and psychotic devotion of the Obama Presidential campaign and all it's idolatress.

The philosophy of the show was best summed up by Bruce Springsteen on his 1985 multi-disk album "Live 1975-1985" before the song "War" when he said,

"...blind faith in your leaders, or in anything, will get you killed..." :headbang:

Rock On South Park! Rock On President Obama! Rock on the 1st Amendment!:patriot:

Give me a fucking break. GOD I hate it when people pull that stupid cliche with me. They hate liberals by their own admission and cannot come up with a reason why when asked.

Also, what is with this quote:

Michael Moore being an extremist is just as bad, you know, as Donald Rumsfeld. It’s like they’re the same person.

:wtf: I mean, that's just shit-all stupid even for them. Michael Moore's views aren't really that far off from what most of mainstream America wants when it comes to the economy, civil rights, the military and governmental accountability. So they put him on the same level with a paranoid fascist like Rumsfeld and I'm supposed think those two and their cheeseball show, which stopped being funny about five years ago, are jeenyuses?

Maybe you should follow old Bruuuuuuucie's advice yourself.

39. South Park is not Right-Wing. If it was it wouldn't be funny,
and I admit that generally I find it to be hilarious. The show regularly makes fun of just about everyone, but mt perception is that overall the show is more center-left than what you perceive it to be. To each his own though...that's why there's more than one channel on at a time.

Haven't watched them in awhile.

Last time I saw them I happened to catch an episode where Cartman got AIDS, and another where Ike had an affair with his kindergarten teacher.

Both were fine setups, but they utterly failed to deliver a punch line.

It was just absolute painful crap.

I figured they jumped the shark and just phoned it in.
