Stephen Colbert Loves Ayn Rand
From HuffPo:

In last night's episode of "The Word" Stephen Colbert praised Ayn Rand for her novel "Atlas Shrugged," a favorite of conservative commentators that blames government spending on social programs for the downfall of the country. Sales of the book have been on the rise since Obama came into office, proving that "things have gotten so desperate, Americans are actually reading."

Colbert has wholeheartedly accepted Rand's philosophy and wants to live on an island with the CEOs, hedge fund managers, House Republicans and TV pundits.

2. you do realize the colbert is a comic playing a role in a show that is a parody
of rw talkers.

Take anything and everything he says on that show with a grain of salt.

11. It's the headline from HuffPo, not mine.

I thought it was self explanatory as it was Stephen Colbert and pretty much whatever he says on his show is the opposite of what he believes.

5. Colbert would want to live on an island with the CEOs, hedge fund managers, House Republicans and TV
pundits?

Please ... make it a reality show ... watch them starve to death in weeks ... who would actually do the work to feed them?

8. I think the OP is aware that the whole thing is a joke, and playing along.
Brilliant send up, absolutely brilliant. Rand is one of the pillars of the conservative movement. Strangely, along with the Bible, which actually pushes things contrary to Rand like charity.

14. I don't think anyone does.
Being that Stephen Colbert has endorsed putting a bag on your head to keep out deadly oxygen, I think it is assumed that whatever he says is to be taken with a grain of salt.

16. All those Titans Of Industry would be dead in a year.
Since having one Union Plumber with them would be an affront to their delicate yet massive egos, they would all expire from dysentery from the first broken pipes and bad water.

Rand was delusional, and anyone that reads her drivel and can relate to it as a philosophy are mental juveniles.
