Assuming that 'talking' is a function of thinking & aforethought; why aren't Dems fast enough...
talkers? I'm listening to this Gaffney dude sparing with David Corn on Hardball as though nothing has changed whatsoever...*they still present themselves as though they have all the fucking answers*. So why are Dems caught so flat-footed? We know, essentially, what they are going to say. We know that they are extremely likely to say whatever the hell they need to say to justify their pernicious position i.e. "May I finish! May I finish! Please don't interrupt ME!!!", excuse me but they are the ones that are fucking DONE! They are over!!!!! Or fucking are they!? Cause they keep talking & talking & talking obfuscating spinning LYING!! -- and we allow them to do so without so much as a, "Excuse me, sir, but you have destroyed that world and you know perfectly well that you did it was your intention all along and it is time for you cease & desist and admit it or consider leaving the circle of civilized discourse ya'fuckin duuph!! Grow the fuck up or down but either way get with the fucking program cause it ain't your's no mo!"

Plain & Simple, so what is it? Why are Dems so mealy-mouthed and please spare me the *we're better than they are* meme just tell me why it is

2. It is much more complex than that! Extrovert vs Introvert
Es speak before they think, Is think before they speak.

Democrats in general form more complex thoughts that are not as sound bite worthy.
Democrats in general are more comfortable with nuance and grey areas.

And Democrats are not nearly the mean spirited assholes and liars that Repubs are.

8. Oh yes, enter the back/forth, up/down, fight or flight reptilian brain...
That is what they are appealing to i.e. Sartre's *other*...the half cracked window treatment at midnight allowing the unknown to flow in, the shape-shifting unknown, the faceless enemy they are where many of our primal thoughts reside and so they 'talk' to them they sell like products on bumper-stickers or sound bites; but that is where America is...we are still a consumer driven econometric society we pay for what we *think* we need; that is the battle!

5. Good question
Perhaps it's for the same reason that the Bush regime's obvious crimes aren't being pursued according to Constitutional law,.... Or think of it as "professional courtesy" ... after all, they all work at the same place, ie, the political industry. Then there's fear of rejection. Possibly they know that someday they may need to climb into a small airplane. It could be lots of reasons, eh?

Hopefully none of them will apply to Al Franken.

6. Once, just once, I would like to hear
You are a lying sack of shit and a pathetic excuse for a human being. Your only intent is to deceive and confuse while lining your pockets with cash.

Daily show comes on in over an hour so I have that going for me.

7. Dems are Lawyers, Pubs are Salesmen
Dems build cases based on fact, which takes significant time and thought.

Republicans sell and if I knew how to sell, I would be too busy to be at DU. lol.

12. I think they don't get it
I think they think they are. I can make a case for my business all day long. Lay out all the facts, present solid evidence, make a coherent argument. Doesn't matter. I can't sell. I see other people who do sell, they wave the shiny thing and off the customers go.

14. Oh I hear you, and answering ConcernedCanuk below as well...
Sales people, dancers...and worse too, they dod what they do imo cause they can't stop. I'm not much of a salesperson myself either, but I see my husband out front making the case, cutting the contract and such he's seamless. But also says it's easier when you have some to sell that sells itself. But you are right...people do respond to the bells & whistles prolly too much

13. If you cannot lie, you can't sell - and the electorate likes to be "sold" to

.
.

We seem to be a little luckier up here, mostly because of the way our parliamentary government system works

I mean we got Harper, he's a salesman

and we bought his crap

BUT

if he stumbles too badly, or pisses us off too much, we can depose him in a matter of months

Stevie-boy ain't stupid, he's dancing around the issues - so far

But the more he kisses ass with the USA banksters,

The closer he comes to being deposed

He knows that too, but like I said

Stevie is a dancer . . .

So far, so good
