Coulter's book sales off
Posted: 10:49 AM ET

Sales of Coulter's latest book appear to be far lower than her others.
(CNN) — Is Ann Coulter losing her mojo when it comes to selling books?

The conservative commentator, whose previous tomes have flown of the bookshelves, isn't having quite as good luck with her latest hardback, "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their Assault on America."

According to Portfolio Magazine, just over 100,000 copies of the book have sold during its two months on the market. While that number far surpasses most politically themed books, its sales to date rank far below those of other Coulter polemics.

Portfolio reports 2006's "Godless: The Church of Liberalism," sold 279,100 copies in hardcover, 2003's "Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terror," sold 396,600 hardcover copies, and 2002's "Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right," sold 333,100 copies and an additional 108,300 in paperback.

The comparatively low book sales come even as Coulter has mounted a high-profile publicity tour in recent weeks, including widely watched and heated appearances on "The Today Show" and "The View."

8. I bow to your consistently sharp wit and insight
some of us become irrational and start typing cusswords when the thoughts of some people come to mind.

9. Honestly, are her book sales numbers, even when they are "on", all that impressive?? There
are millions of people in this country and that's all she sold? (Hardcover count only, I know, but still.)

15. I can't imagine seeing her at that size. But then, I don't think watching her
on a Sony Watchman would be much better.

13. I think the current flopped book is "Guilty: Liberal Victims..."
Freeper idiots actually bought 3X the number of "Godless" as "Guilty," of course, they're all the same "Libruls R Bad" shite but apparently Skankerella's gone to that well one too many times.

I take it that the usual "think tanks" aren't buying tons of her books for librairies, "conservative organizations," wingnut radio giveaways etc. IMO she probably always sold around this amount although twice as many were "bought" that's different than "selling" them.

16. The ways of the past are over.
Coulter, Rush, Bill O, all these people, and more, are the "past" that took the republican party down to where it is today. They played the "hate" card, and helped Bush divided this country. Now they still have a following, and they still have their sam old views on how to take the party ahead, but it's pretty obvious that their "view" on what the party needs to be is not what the majority of republicans want.

First they have to come up with a "new" message, and then they need "new" faces to get that message out, and that just isn't happening. The only ones that have taken the spotlight are the "idiots" like Rush who really could care less about the republicans as long as his ratings are up, same with Coulter and the rest of the idiots that did so well with spreading "hate" during the Bush years. It will be some time before the republican party can get it's act together, and in the meantime if the democrats can show the people of this country they are working for them, and not for the big corporations, they will be in charge of things for a long time to come!

19. I have a feeling that's a big part of it
In another thread I took exception to CNN saying her past books had flown off shelves. What they don't tell you is that right-wing mags and websites do buy up those pallets of books to give away as gifts or use as an upsale (donate $25, nothing but donate $50 and we'll give you this crappy book). I doubt she's ever had a legitimate bestseller, and now that the economy is in the crapper, the right-wing propaganda machine is not as well funded which means she may not have a bestseller again for a long time.
