BEIJING, March 13 (Reuters) - Premier Wen Jiabao held out the prospect of extra stimulus spending if needed to hit China's 8 percent growth goal this year and called on Washington to ease worries Beijing has about the safety of its vast U.S. assets.

1. That's smart anyway.
They've been fairly "intensive" in terms of focusing on primary sector development. It's time for China to make the leap to "extensive" growth through increased consumer spending and diversification of the economy. That is when China will accomplish it medium-term goal of becoming a moderately developed country.
