What's with the Jim Cramer is a democrat meme?
Oh really?

Every time I hear discussions concerning the Jim Cramer/Jon Stewart showdown - CNBC defenders always toss out "well Jim Cramer is a Democrat... blaa blaa blaa"

Anyone else notice that? What is that?

1. Goppies think everything is a football game
and we all have to be true to our team.

They completely missed the point of the interview, that Cramer was acting to cover up criminal activity while enticing suckers to keep the game going.

His politics, whatever they are, were never under attack.

2. He said, on Colbert, that he blamed Democrats and not Republicans
in the mortgage meltdown crisis!

4. Just because someone has voted democrat, doesn't make them a democrat
I'm sure that Cramer has voted GOP in the past too. He is a moderate.

13. True.
I vote Democratic all the time, but I'm not a member of the party.

16. It's the party structure that turns me off
I generally agree with Democrats (obviously I'm on this site), but I don't like having to belong to a team.

5. I don't care if he considers himself a Democrat
What kind of Democrat says that Obama and Nancy Pelosi are "Bolshevik leaning", "communist", etc? He's been using all that red scare rhetoric lately. Though there are worse at CNBC, but that's my particular issue with Jim Cramer and the "he's a Democrat meme". Just because he's a Democrat, doesn't mean he's not a bozo.

6. His political contributions...

7. Maybe his contributions are purely pragmatic--
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 11:25 AM by Jackpine Radical
maybe he has noticed that the stock market always does better under Democrats, so he just swallows his Ayn-Randite ideals and votes his wallet.

15. Maybe those were to Blue Dog Conservative Democrats, who are now joining with the Repukes in
obstructing President Obama's budget plans.

8. It seems he donated to Dems in 2000....
(gasp) so I guess that is supposed to mean something, not sure what, lol. A sleazy attempt, imo, to tar and feather actual Democrats with this POS. If so, it is a complete FAIL.

10. Republicans and Independents voted for Obama as well...
Who he voted for doesn't determine his party affiliation at all.

12. I agree what does his political leaning have to do
with his reporting on the state of wall street. Do stock prices care if your a liberal or a conservative? The interview was about economics not politics.

14. I heard it from the cnbc talking bobble head
who was a guest on Real Time last Friday - she told Maher he was a Democrat.

I have never watched cnbc, don't know any of the on-screen persons but the woman was not very deep.
