If you agree with 7 out of 9 "Principles".......
... You might be a Freeper!

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/21018/

The Nine Principles (with my comments)

1. America is good.
(No argument here- so I agree with one)

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
(Whose God? Just YOUR God, and exactly the way YOU believe, am I right? Sorry- you can worship your vengeful god of hate all you want, but keep him out of my government and my life!!!!)

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
(I agree with that)

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
(Define "Family" please.... I think we would disagree on this)

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
(no one except republican politicians, right?)

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
(I have a right to those, as well... but since I'm gay- you want to caveat MY life, liberty and pursuit of happiness)

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
(And so do I. Stop pretending that only republicans have jobs)

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
(But it somehow WAS un-American for *ME* to disagree with everything that the Bush regime stood for... Double Standard much?)

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
(ORLY- you do not answer to the government? Laws do not apply to you? Yeah, give that a shot, and let me know how it works out)

2. About number 1.
It's not good. It's not bad. It just is. Just like the military. It is "good" as long as it stands for what it claims to. I was doubtful but the last few months have me hopeful.

#7 is a slippery slope.

Technically, I really only 100% with #3.

5. That's what is so ridiculous about this list....
They're touting basic principles that they claim to agree to, but they have literally dozens of caveats for each one.

11. I am not all that keen on #3
First, it is quite absolute "I MUST ALWAYS"

Second, I think I was pretty honest yesterday so sweating about being even more honest does not seem THAT important. There are other virtues besides honesty.

Third, it depends on how you define honesty. I don't usually share the negative things I think about my co-workers, and especially about my supervisor. Is that a bad thing?

15. Exactly...
For most of these folks to say that they try to be honest, and then pass around their versions of, say, "the gay agenda" is quite a hoot.

3. Their problem is that they mouth the words included in those "principles", but
rarely do they actually embody those principles.

9. I might be
1.yes
2.no
3.yes
4.yes
5.yes
6.no
7.yes
8.yes
9.yes

I have some details for each to explain why and some specifics that must be present to bring me to the answer I gave but I'm feeling quite lazy and didn't want to do it so this is all you get.

12. my version here (cross post)
The Nine Principles ( 'cause I can't count to ten)

1. America is good. ( and therefore justified when doing bad things )

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life. ( which removes my personal responsibility for my life )

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday. ( 'cause I couldn't possibly be much worse )

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government. ( the gays scare me )

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it. ( unless you were in the Bush Administration, or voted for him )

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results. ( or equal opportunity, so don't take away my advantages. I can't compete on a level playing field )

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable. ( I don't share )

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion. ( as long as I don't disagree with Rush )

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me. ( and I want less government because I want fewer people working for me )
