On Stewart v. Cramer...
As much as I loved seeing Jon pwn him mercilessly, I gotta give Jim Cramer some serious props for just showing up. He has Santelli beat on guts by a country mile.
And at the end, where he agreed to do some of the things Stewart suggested? I had to pick my jaw off the floor. Didn't much like Cramer before, but he's earned a bit of respect after last night.

1. I too give Cramer credit for appearing on TDS.
Jon owned him. But Cramer did have the balls to show up. It was the only hope for putting this fight to bed.

2. Me too. He gained some respect for showing up like that.
And Jon mentioned a number of times that it wasn't an attack on him as much as an attack on the media and Cramer unfortunately became the face of it.

I definitely believe he deserved his dressing down, but he showed a lot of guts just going in there.

3. Either that or he was too naive to realize that Stewart would thump him

4. I agree
But I bet he's regretting it today.

I wonder if he did it believing that it would stop TDS from continuing to go after the CNBC idiots.

If he believed that, he's wrong, isn't he?

7. Per Doucheborough twitter, Cramer was suppose to be on his show but
Cramer called in sick.

11. I bet he did.........
That guy's under a blanket right now with a bottle, a syringe, and two white-collar criminal lawyers, I suspect.

5. I felt like he was just changing trains when he realized he was on the one headed
for a brick wall. He needs a job. But I have to give him some credit for taking on Stewart, who is unquestionably miles ahead of him in every way.

:hi:

6. Courage
Cramer's bravery for showing up is quite honorable. I do not forgive any past misdeeds, but what he did took courage. If only so many other of our institutions were so honorable.

9. Cramer will show true courage if he makes changes to his show
and to his relationship with the Wall Street folks who put this nation in an economic meltdown.

10. Yes. He salvaged a shred of dignity in his choice of responses.
Is he serious or just "caught?" Who knows. But the bottom line is, he gave the response we would all hope for and almost never see from someone like this.

He said... I was wrong, and I am going to try to do better.

He gets at least a minor nod from me for that.

12. I agree. Here's the interview:
http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?collectionId=221532

I just watched it. Cramer sort of took his beating and agreed with a lot of Jons good points. If he moves forward and changes his show like Jon said, it could be a good thing. The issue with Cramer is that there has always been a "behind the scenes" Cramer and an "in front of the camera" Cramer. I remember it on Glenn Beck when Beck was trying to get him to say "what he just said off camera" and Cramer wouldn't. Its like he got into the whole Jenkem based finance theory, that the market works off of good things said about it instead of products services and labor. If he leaves that behind and actually starts sharing what he knows, I'll bet he could have a pretty cool show.

13. I thought it was a lame CYA attempt. I don't think he was expecting the footage Stewart showed. n/t
