Why is the Corporate Media not addressing THAT question?

Or is that a rhetorical question?

2. But, but, but my best friends, the CEOs, I trusted them!
Which I think it bullshit that he took anyone's word and didn't see the scam...

But anyway, isn't there something strange about a reporter getting stock "tips" from buddy CEOs and relaying that information to the public for the purpose of making money through stock transactions?

3. 1) No, he didn't.
2) All of them.

3) Because it's not news.

4) Depends on how you meant it.

Any other questions?

Any other questions?

6. 1.) Cramer said last night the SEC is looking into his little video
2.) I think so too.

3.) Should be.

4.) I meant that the Corporate Media is scared shitless of a real investigation into market manipulation.

7. 1) That's a far cry from admitting to a crime.
3) Why? A blind man could see he has more than enough wiggle room to avoid conviction.

4) No, they're not. They have a lot of latitude on the way they report things and they know it.

The thing that I find most appalling is that people needed to be told this. Stewart didn't bring anything to light that most people shouldn't have already known.

9. Judging from the tone here at DU, nobody will learn anything from this.

They get all gleeful about the fight but fail to learn the lesson...and then look for somebody else to blame when they make the same mistakes again.

People need to wake the hell up and take responsibility for their investments. Anybody who invested based on what Cramer...or any other "expert"...said is an idiot. There are hard numbers out there and one can make decisions based on real data. If somebody refuses to do this and insists on being spoon-fed financial "advice", they kinda deserve what they get.

10. My position is both. The buyer should beware AND financial news...
should be free of Payola type manipulation.

I think we should not accept the latter as "well, that's just the way it is."

12. We made the media what it is...
Edited on Fri Mar-13-09 06:13 PM by MercutioATC
Do most people want to be told what the numbers are so they have the information they need to make their own decisions? No, that's booooooring. People want the "7 Stocks To Watch Tomorrow". They DEMAND that the talking heads pre-chew their information and shove it down their little gullets.

...and they get indignant when their "financial news" turns out to be nothing more than an infomercial?

If they spent less time musing about whether Jessica Simpson is getting fat and more time demanding real data, they might actually get some real financial news.

5. Most likely all of them.
Market manipulation seems to be the essence of what Hedge funds ARE to me.

11. We all know why they're not addressing it.
That would detract attention from the Madoff dog and pony show.

See? The guilty man is being punshed. All is well. Go back to sleep.
