We're liberals because we understand that truth has a liberal bias

And I personally cannot suffer "conservative" foolishness gladly.

Example: Glenn Beck is doing a circle jerk over the Founders. He says that they were "God-fearing", as in he's trying to equate them with the evangelicals of today.

But most were Deists and no evangelical would be caught dead tolerating Deist beliefs.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deism

And yeah, don't talk about the slavery and misogyny of the period... and don't mention Shays' Rebellion http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shays'_Rebellion/

These people have forgotten that America has always been a work in progress. And it has always been the progressives and progressive principles of any party that made our country worth fighting for.

You and I don't need this country to go backward, despite taking conservatives kicking and screaming along with us.

6. Agreed, but...
Conservatism -- as practiced these days -- has a huge anti-truth bias.

After all, the truth wouldn't let these guys rob us blind, take away our civil rights and call themselves heroes.

So it isn't that truth has a liberal bias, it's that liberals (compared to neo-cons, anyway) have a pro-truth bias.

7. yep, I agree, many liberals are pro-truth... the dems in congress are another matter, and the GOP
wouldn't know truth if it bit them on their collective asses.

In fairness, though, there are conservatives who seek out the truth, and aren't afraid to admit it even if it conflicts with their beliefs.

4. Exactly. We have no need to lie.
Beck etc. have to change reality constantly.

5. We are supposed to understand that issues are rarely black or white.
Hard to tell from reading DU, but the truth.
