6. A dichotomy between politics and religion?

For some people, these things are like ultraviolet and infrared, opposite ends of the spectrum, never the twain shall meet.

For others, they're bread and butter, barbie and ken, burgers and fries. They go together like rama lama lama, ding a de ding a dong.


Of course, in order to answer this question at all it requires you to believe the official story, or else your answer will involve paragraphs of backstory.


What can motivate a suicide attack? Religion or ideology can affect someone susceptible, perhaps already mentally weak. The social aspect of it may have come into play, through cult-like conditioning. Maybe some were "in too deep" and had to do it if they wanted their families to live. Maybe some were desperately poor and were promised money for their families.

Honestly, there are tons of people around who are ready to throw their lives away if you can give them a decent reason for it.

The closest to actual motivation on behalf of the PLANNERS I've ever seen was in one of Bin Laden's letters, where he says he got the inspiration for the attack from when the 6th fleet shelled Lebanon. Again, presuming you believe the official story.
