Now I'm hearing the insurance companies want to be bailed out.
That is where I draw the line (as if it matters where I draw any line)!! Insurance is such a damn racket! Let these snakes go under, I say!! Besides, if we have fewer insurance companies, we'll have fewer lobbyists working against single payer and things that are good for consumers.

1. They're in trouble because they play heavily in the investment world.
They fund a lot of real estate mortgages, too.

Let them fail. We have a process for failing insurers in every state.

7. Yeah, they probably tried to insure their losses by investing in collateralized debt obligations.

As you are pointing out, this thing is escalating into a disaster of huge proportions. Thanks for reminding (or preparing) everybody how enormous this thing is going to be. It is going to be massive. And painful.

We'll get through it, hopefully.
