Ex-Cal Tree Sitter Injured In West Bank Protest

A Bay Area man and former tree-sitter at the University of California at Berkeley was critically wounded Friday in a clash between protesters and Israeli troops over Israel's West Bank separation barrier.

Peace activists with the International Solidarity Movement said that Tristan Anderson, 38, of Oakland was struck in the head with a tear gas canister fired by Israeli troops. The military and the Tel Aviv hospital where Anderson was taken had no details on how he was hurt.

A hospital spokeswoman said Anderson was listed in critical condition.

8. not to you guys, but sorry the thought of being known as the ex tree sitter is extremely amusing
its like going through life known as the kid who ate other peoples boogers, or the guy who died while having sex with a chicken.

16. even better
ex-tree sitter lost his mind in Palestine

I'm going to hell for that so no need to remind me.

Seriously though, I hope he pulls through and finds a more productive way to protest Israel than yelling at IDF soldiers who don't give a shit.

12. I presume he was a lost child angry at everything.
His parents have some fault on how they raised him.
I googled him he complained about everything.

Angry young man.

14. "he complained about everything"
Good. We need more people like him. He also did far more than just complain--he took action.

We really, really need more people like him.

13. If you spend any time at all in the Humboldt redwood groves, I think you'd get it.
I did. I always thought they were a little nutty for doing what they did, until I spent some time among those ancient giants. I still wouldn't do that myself, but now I understand why they did what they did. And I will never, ever laugh at them again.
