absofuckinglutely brilliant. I took the rendezvous with Rothschild as a metaphor for his self love and obsession with plutocrats and fascists - Western masturbation.
Will Farrell was excellent in it. There were times he caught GW Bush so well that I forgot it wasn't him for a second or two. His last words, "You're welcome America" and then sitting down and flipping everyone the bird was perfect. That's exactly what Bush has done.
22. It was terrific theater and Ferrell did a great non-stop impression
of *...
One moment I thought most interesting is when Ferrell as Bush stopped and talked about how all the deaths incurred by our Iraq War effected him and how he felt about it ... you could have heard a pin drop in the theater. I think, even though I know that Bush would never say or feel those things - that my knowledge of the reality vs the stage made that moment all the more poignant. Found that I was somehow WISHING or WAITING for * to acknowledge those emotions and this staged moment caused me to realize that about myself for the first time. I still want him to acknowledge he's part of the human race I guess. Not sure if that was the play's intent at that juncture ... but that's what it did for me. Anyone else get anything from that?
