The sickening republican strategy of turning American against American intensifies.
I don't know when it started, and I don't know how far back it goes, this repuke tactic of hate and fearmongering. But I know it's been going on a while. And I think it goes to high-level with the whole "WE" surround "YOU" campaign.

I mean, it was one thing to try, and largely succeed with millions of people, turning a war hero into an enemy of the state, like they did in 04. But they have gone mad now. That was to demean and sully a candidate. This new effort seeks to turn American against American by sowing hatred and distrust among us all. Our friends, our neighbors. "Coming up on the Glen Beck show, 10 ways to tell if someone you know might be one of "them."

I don't think beck's show will meet a large or sustainable audience, not that it will stop with him. I don't think this us and them, this, some shadowy threat to you and your country who will surround you if you don't surround them campaign, will take hold to any hefty degree. But the fact that it's out there, and that it could, seems almost treasonous.

I mean, what a way to try to win people over to your "side." Stoke anger and spread suspicion not just toward select foreign leaders, not just at political foes, but now among all of us, one against the other. Creating discord to further their own political aims. What sick fucks.

4. Childish
Let's face it, everything that the Republican Hate Machine puts out these days is just because they lost the Presidency and took a beating in the Senate and House. Childishness is a staple of the Republican party, and has been for several decades. Like most rich and powerful people when they can't get what they want; they pout, bitch, whine, and throw tantrums. The Dems need to stuff a pacifier in the Pubs mouths, or plugs in their own ears and roll onto what this country needs done, bipartisanship be damned. Do some good with the those two majorities and move us out of the Dark Ages that we entered under Bush.

11. Welcome to DU, and I think the repugs are betting that the '10 elections will be a
referendum on Obama

Their slash and burn attacks on everything Obama (even when they make no sense) are an attempt to lower our president's approval so they have a shot in the midterm

6. re:
"We Surround Them" is so bizarre, and yet uniquely
USian, that I still cannot tell whether to laugh, cry, or feel
vaguely nervous. The whole thing sounds like something that
they would dream up at some sort of religious fundamentalist
conference.

7. Headline in my paper today, "Hundreds gather for televised rally"
It seems some people in Western North Carolina are frustrated and angry at the direction the country is going. "I feel the government has let us all down by trying to control our lives in very way and it's time for people to stand up for their rights". This was one person's comment when asked why she attended-----275 idiots came to the Holiday Inn to hear Beck.

8. I am becoming very concerned for the health and safety of "them"
That live in areas of the country where this arrogant stupidity resonates the loudest. I have a feeling that these gullible idiots will become increasingly angry and stirred up like they became during the Palin campaign rallies, but instead with Limbaugh, Coulter, Faux Noise, Beck, Malkin, ect.. cheerleading it. Unfortunately it may take a serious incident or incidents of some kind to shut these assholes up. I feel that some of them should be arrested for indirectly inciting and provoking violence towards innocent citizens as well as the government

:wtf:

I guess they really like Glenn Beck---how that is possible, I cannot imagine.
