4. Basically, anybody NOT in the top 1%
But the attacks on the unions & the middle class have been the most obvious method of that.

5. You left out trial attorneys... they hate trial attorneys because they give so much to the Dems
You also left out "Hollywood/Entertainment Industry" that they hate for the same reason.

6. Themselves
All of those other groups can survive the onslaught of the fools. But the fools themselves are doomed.

They may spill a lot of blood along the way, but they're living on borrowed -- or, more likely, stolen -- time.

9. What do you mean by TARGET? Their enemy, or the ones they want to assimilate?
They dislike workers who earn their daily bread, not scam it, and people who believe that we should provide for the least of our citizens. They don't care for GLBT people, unless they stay closeted and fake it.

They want to assimilate groups that can be easily swayed by wedge issues, people who, as a group, have strong ties to churches and who are obsessively concerned about "others" getting "their" money. They will be reaching out to blacks and hispanics in a big way in the coming years, because they think those groups have potential. Even if they can chip away at the monolithic quality of those voting groups, they can make the difference, so they believe.

They're working on a 21st Century flip strategy, much like Nixon's Southern Strategy. Michael Steele and Bobby Jindal are the point men for this effort, but there are others involved as well.

15. A Better Question: Is There Any Group that Is SAFE From GOP Attack?
In other words, who do they fear enough to leave alone? I won't even ask "who do they love enough to leave alone" because that answer is "nobody but themselves and only their individual self" which will be indulged to death and beyond.

Watching the GOPpers tear at each other for lack of other diversion is gruesome!

I think they fear anyone who stands up to them, and they will give a wide berth to anyone who demonstrates dominance.

18. Not sure what you mean by target.
They are targeting unions so they can do the bidding of their corporate masters, but they don't care about them anyway since they don't get the union vote.

If you mean targeting for votes, well I don't see anyone who is not already a die hard republican voting for them in the near future. They have no message to attract anyone to their party, and that is going to be their downfall.

They can go after all kinds of people to mess things up more than they already are, but in the long run no matter what they do they are only hurting themselves. The majority of americans see through the BS and know what the truth is, and only the true brain dead zombies are going to stick with this party of NO, NO, NO!

21. Although there are several tempting selections on your poll, I voted "other."
I think the GOP simply wants to make Obama and his economic team look like failures.

And certain corners of the media are complicit, calling the past several week's Obama's Market Crash, etc...

They want us to forget who was responsible for the current economic crisis; therefore, target Obama, and even (ironically enough) Bernanke.

Hands down. The reprehensible piles of walking excrement in DC tried their best to scuttle American auto industry because they can't stand things like people getting a fair wage or working in a safe enviornment.

32. Poor people, particularly the non-working.
Edited on Sun Mar-15-09 07:56 PM by Naturyl
I noticed that the poor didn't even make the list, while "people who work for a living" are the first option.

This is evidence that the GOP culture war is succeeding. Poor people in general are marginalized, but those who do not "work for a living" are utterly unworthy of consideration.
