The World's Smallest St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Oh my, I just learned something about my birthplace and I think it's the cutest thing. I just had to share. ;)

I still have family in Enterprise, Alabama, and surrounding areas (too close for comfort to the Alabama shooter last week), but I grew up primarily in Pittsburgh, PA. I learned today that Pittsburgh supposedly has the second largest (next to NYC, of course) St. Patty's Day Parade.

But when I heard about the following, I laughed out loud. I want to go down one year and do the honors. With a surname of Patrick, it's the right thing to do. :)


The "World's Smallest St. Patrick's Day Parade" will once again bring the Irish spirit to Enterprise Alabama on March 17, 2009 at high noon.

2. Oh how cute!

I was in Enterprise in the 70s, when my brother was stationed at the nearby base. Made sure I saw the Boll Weevil monument and the monkey chow factory. This parade sounds very cute--and money is raised for a good cause, too!

He had just become a warrant officer and Mom took me to see him. And of course we went into town especially to see the monument. We'd learned the history of it and wanted to see it.
