Levi Johnston details breakup in TV interview(GMA Monday)
Edited on Sun Mar-15-09 08:30 PM by RamboLiberal
-----

Levi Johnston, 19, described the circumstances of his split with the daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in an interview from his Alaska home with "Good Morning America" that will be aired Monday.

"We'll see, we'll see how it is," Johnston said in the interview recorded Friday. "We'll just remain friends for now. We're both cool with that decision, and we'll see."

Johnston said the couple broke up "a week, two weeks" ago.

"We were just, we were in a fight," Johnston said. "And trying to see if we can make things work. But this is what it kind of ended up turning into. But we'll see what happens."

Johnston said they needed time to grow up before following through on marriage plans.

ABC Excerpts:

"It's just us not, me not being mature enough, or something, and having a kid and thinking ... it could be better -- better for us to separate for a while," Johnston said.

"I'd give anything for (Tripp), to be with him," he said. "(There are) a lot of changes when you're a father, when you hold him for the first time, you know. I don't do a lot of things I used to anymore, I'll tell you that."

"Yeah, (I'm) growing up a lot," he added. "So, it's fun. It's good times."

Asked if he felt any pressure from the Palin family, Johnston said he did not.

"No," he said. "Not at all."

2. Imagine living the stupidity of your youth under the eye of the internet
I hate everything Sarah Palin stands for. I was also a stupid girl raised like Bristol was. The reality is that these two people are now parents and it has nothing to do with the fact that her mother is an idiot and his mother is a drug dealer. This baby is starting out like you and I did, completely innocent. Leave it alone for Chrissakes.

7. He is a stupid kid raised in an insulated environment
he was thrust into this at the worst possible time in his life. He has had no experience in his life that would have prepared him for living under this scrutiny. He is a good looking kid who was getting laid whenever, wherever he could and he fucked up and knocked up the daughter of someone who got nominated for VP because she was a breathing female leader of a State that nobody vetted before she became National news.

He is no different than most boys his age. Bristol is no different than most girls her age. The reality is that this baby is the result, Sarah doesn't have a chance in hell in 2012. Let it die.,

11. Changing the breakup timeline.....
If he left it at his "broke up a while ago" comment from last week, it means BP and SP lied during the GVS interview that he was still involved and that they had a future together...changing it to his current "1 to 2 weeks ago" gets them off the hook. There were quite a few blogs/sites that were asking just how long ago WAS "a while ago"...a while ago as in pre-GVS interview???

23.  I think it's cause he's living the stupidity of his youth. like the poster you responded to said
Which in Levi's case will likely be followed by the moronity of his middle years and the thickheadicity of his retirement days.

MSM is sinking lower and lower. Wonder if they are going to cover mommy's meth bust? Ridiculous! So much going on in the world and this is what they devote time to?

14. Lets not talk about them because..............
they were never strung across the media 24/7 a day and chose
to have McCain greet them as leaders of the youth of republican party.

The media never touched that one either.

America is as stupid as the media tries to make you forget..

This story won't get the play it deserves on hypocrisy

20. Had Sarah been elected as VP
Bristol and Levi would have wed, and Levi's mother would have been "relieved" of her illegal Rx drugs without being arrested.

Bristol and Levi would have been panned in the media as an example of the RW Christian moral "family responsibility" that liberals lack.

The public may never know about all of the Palin and Johnston family feuds and how Levi and Bristol really feel about each other. I doubt if they were ever truly in love. Sarah Palin will want the Johnston family baby link to hers to fade away asap if she plans to run as a GOP POTUS candidate in '12, much less being reelected as AK governor in '10.

21. Sarah Palin: Daughter Bristol ‘doing just great’
Alaska governor Sarah Palin strode through the produce section of Juneau's Fred Meyer supermarket Saturday morning, smiling and waving with an entourage of youngsters in tow.

"These are my children, Willow, Piper and 11-month-old Trig," Palin told an excited group of Girl Scouts. Then Palin, 45, motioned to a baby bundled in a hoodie, held and bottle-fed by Piper. "And this is my grandbaby Tripp," she said of the infant son of her daughter Bristol, 18.

"He's only 2 months old. It's kind of surreal!" she added.

Palin was taking a break from governing the nation's largest state to help Juneau's Girl Scout Troop 32 sell cookies after the group lost all for their previous proceeds in a robbery the week before. "I read about it in the newspaper and I said, 'Well, me and the kids have an hour on Saturday, let's go down and help,'" she explained. "This age is so precious."

Missing from the Palin family group was Bristol, in the news after her split with Tripp’s father, Levi Johnston, 19. There's no mystery, though. "Oh, Bristol is over at the state capitol building golfing in a miniature golf tournament," Palin told PEOPLE. "It's a fundraiser and she's up there taking my place while I'm here."

"Bristol is doing great, just great!," Palin said.

Besides wacky Repub governors and senators they sure have some wacky criminals in Alaska. Besides the girl scout cookie robbery they had some Halloweeners held up a gun point last fall for their candy.

Gov. Sarah Palin meets with Juneau Girl Scouts to help sell cookies at Fred Meyer on Saturday. Last Sunday, two Girl Scouts were robbed by a masked assailant as they were leaving Fred Meyer with proceeds from their cookie sales. A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested for the crime. Juneau Fred Meyer Store Director Jaime San Miguel, on behalf of Fred Meyer, presented Girl Scout Troop 32 with a check for $800 to replace the money that was robbed. Fred Meyer also matched dollar for dollar all of the cookie sales for the time Gov. Palin helped the Girl Scouts at the store. The Girl Scouts sold 943 boxes of cookies for a grand total of $3772.

24. A father at 19. Is ANYONE surprised that he is "out of the picture"?
The mother, at age 19, would have preferred to be "out of the picture as well". However, birth control wasn't there to save the day.
