1. they ought to feed it

It's time people woke up and understood how these companies function, and how little regard they have for the rest of the population.

2. And In The End...
All the angst will mean nothing. My bets are the bonuses have already been paid...too late. Yep, we'll get the corporate media "outrage" game...one they should have sounded years ago when our treasury was plundered and the financial markets were operating as gambling casinos. Little good they do for us now.

Wanna bet many of these beltway concern trolls are more jealous about the people getting the money than the concept of bonuses. They thought they were the only ones to get paid big bucks for being totally inept.

3. Is this a bad thing?
I mean, it would be better if that outrage was accompanied by an ORDER from our wimpy Treasury that "the American taxpayers now own 80% of AiG and as majority stakeholders we are telling you that those bonuses WILL NOT be paid."

But barring that, the more this is publicized, the worse AiG looks - after all they ARE extortionists and pirates. The shoe fits. Let them wear it.

7. they may be extortionists and pirates in spirit but in fact the govt legalized it first.

if they broke laws they should go to jail.

then the laws and the enforcement needs serious overhauling.

12. No matter what needs overhauling (and I agree with you that the laws/regs need it)
the publicity and outrage about it are a good thing, IMO.

It will help facilitate the needed changes.

9. $10 says they are going to deflect our anger from the CEOs to Obama.
That is their job after all.

11. Good point...
...but here's the thing: as long as President Obama insists on pursuing the financial rescue plan with a bunch of Goldman Sachs alums who were neck-deep in the very practices that brought the financial system to ruin, as long as he insists that the AIG contracts are unassailable even though US taxpayers own 80% of the company, as long as he stands by while yet another huge amount of our money is sucked into the accounts of the international criminal financiers, then he deserves to be criticized as well. If an 80% stake in AIG doesn't buy us something, then it is time to tear down the system and set up something new. Obama ignores this obvious truth at his peril.

10. The Media should show their photos and how much they are receiving...
Non-stop all day long. Make the CEOs squirm, at the thought of knowing that the American people know who the failures are and how low they really are.

Put a face on their identity, just like Bernie Madoff.

14. I thought you said the media should show how much they make
Edited on Mon Mar-16-09 10:56 AM by Uzybone
but they never will. I wonder how much the CEO of GE makes? Or much much the GE executive bonuses were? MSNBC will never tell you that.
