Gossip site flogs John KING/CNN for not asking CHEENEE about his death squads
Edited on Mon Mar-16-09 09:26 AM by UTUSN
This CRAMER/CNBC deal ain't nothing new. Back when, CNN was being criticized for not pursuing touchy subjects and story leads in authoritarian countries, and it was clear that ACCESS is the name of the game: If you are tough on desirable guests, the desirable guests will not appear on your venue and might even throw you out of their country or have you shot or thrown in a dungeon.

But in a related tangent, here we have a supposedly frivolous, trivial gossip site delivering a lecture on serious journalism, the way LETTERMAN and STEWART do more hard hitting journalism in their jokes and interviews than "real" journalists.

Dick Cheney's Personal Death Squads Not Worth Asking About

By Ryan Tate, 9:41 PM on Sun Mar 15 2009, 7,254 views

Hey, CNN: You've got a long sit-down with Dick Cheney. Would you like to maybe ask him about the newly-revealed assassination squads that reported directly to him, bypassing all military commanders?

The New Yorker's Seymour Hersh just spilled the beans on the roving killer team in Minnesota, leaving everyone terrified, as the investigative reporter tends to do, since he's constantly revealing, accurately, various secret horrors.

The special "executive assassination ring" would go around the world, silently killing people for Cheney, without checking in with the local CIA goons, much less generals or ambassadors or whatever. The remnants of the program were killed off (ha!) last month when it became clear how many women and children had been offed by these guys.

In his lengthy interview with Cheney, King didn't see fit to bring the assassins up because he was too busy asking if Barack Obama "put the country more in danger" by being a huge, anti-torture pussy; if Obama was "overreaching his mandate" by spending money on health care and if Obama is "trying to brazenly deceive the American people?"

When will the president apologize for preventing Dick Cheney from being asked questions on his favorite topics; endless torture, death and war?

1. I love when one media whore marries another media whore and they
both suckle on the corporate media dick. That's when Dick knows he has an adequate platform for his propaganda.

8. Dick Cheney may be evil, but he ain't dumb.
The old war criminal is at least smart enough to know not to appear on a TV news show where he doesn't "control the message". And the corporate media whores are happy to comply.

11. I wonder what the message is now.
Last time Cheney emerged from his cave, he was pushing the "WMD/nuclear weapon" lie to promote Iraq invasion. I wonder what his agenda is now. Just rehabilitating his image? It's not like Cheney has ever cared about public opinion.

4. Maybe he thought he'd be next on the list.
With Cheney, you never really know. He has a man-sized safe for a reason!

9. I'm sure Cheney put restrictions on the interview
No torture, no death squads, no "renditions", etc. Which at least tells us he's nervous about potential international criminal prosecutions.

7. I emailed a nasty note to CNN about giving Cheney air time at all!
I had John's show on for about 3 seconds! Long nough to see who his guest was. I never watched that evile piece of trash when he was VP, and I'm not about to punish myself now either!!!!

10. Good For You
I didn't care what Cheney thought was he was VP. I absolutely have no interest in his opinion now.

12. Cheney is probably loved only by the ancestors of Benedict Arnold.
They don't carry the stain of being related to the Worst Traitor in American History any more.

13. I never saw the interview, but...
I'm guessing John King ALSO never asked about:

1) Valerie Plame
2) Halliburton
3) Cheney's relationship to Scalia and the SC Energy Task Force decision
4) Lies leading up to the Iraq war
5) Shooting his "best friend" in the face
6) The question of the vice president "not being part of the Administrative branch"
7) Obsessive secrecy
8) Cheney's five draft deferments

Just a guess.

14. Got Another One For You
They needed the energy task force to be a secret, but the result of their "brilliant", "candid advice" plan was a disaster for the people and economy of this country.

So, they either did it on purpose, or were amazingly incompetent. If it's the latter, the secrecy was pointless. If it was the former, secrecy was their primary weapon.

16. The thing that struck me the most was that Darth Vader Cheney looked so good - Puke!
It literally made me ill to see how healthy he looked. After all the death and destruction this man has yielded you would think he would be a dried up prune - and should be! What the Hell is wrong with this picture? Why hasn't God struck him down? Is the Devil in control here? I know this isn't heaven but for God's sake this man has no right to happiness and freedom! Why is he even walking the streets of D.C.?

Excuse me while I throw up - :puke:
