Will the Stewart/Cramer dustup be the catalyst for a CNBC renaissance?
Edited on Mon Mar-16-09 09:42 AM by onehandle
My wife and I Hulu'd last Thursday's TDS last night over dinner. Jon in calling out CNBC through Cramer was telling them that they should be more critical of their guests and target industry. Will they retool and become less cheerleader and more journalistic like their MSNBC brothers (and sister)?

We really feel that Jon Stewart is the reason that MSNBC came to be. Think about it. The shows are critical and entertaining. The only difference is that they don't make up about 25% of what they report like Stewart and Colbert do.

Could CNBC come out of this on the side of truth and light with a MSNBC makeover?

2. I doubt it.
Sure Crossfire got canceled, but CNN and the rest of the MSM kept operating as though nothing had happened. Maybe Cramer will lose his show, but I even doubt that considering CNBC's main demographic are "high income earners".

Of course, I could be wrong. I tend to be pretty cynical about these things.

3. doubtful... although not beyond the realm of possibility
shallow, small-minded people don't change when they get caught. They just lay low until the spotlight no longer shines on them and then go about their petty business.

5. Well, not MSNBC. At least not the afternoon and evening shows.
Morning Joe aside, which is geared for simple people much as the Today Show, Fox and Fascists, and the other morning crap shows.

7. If CNBC were smart they certainly would.
But I don't think they're smart, they're corporate tools.

9. Doubt it!
The Cable Media is now on a "Populist against the President" kick!

They tried with the "tea Parties", but believe they have struck gold with AIG Bonuses instead.

They'll take it!

They are working hard for it! :eyes:
