For the mega-wealthy, as the seasons change, so do their hangouts. "Travel hasn't really changed very much among our clientèle," says Bill Fischer, founder of Fischer Travel Enterprise, which arranges trips for folks willing to shell out a $100,000 fee upfront to be a client (and $25,000 annually after that).
For single socialites, bars and restaurants are the stage but not necessarily the draw. Many of the hottest destinations have earned their place on the circuit because of a local cultural event--say, a charity fundraiser, fashion show, sporting contest or art festival. Others just have a certain je ne sais quoi.
